Thanks a lot! This helped a lot. My projects where all saved to the same project folder so I had to re-save them onto my desktop and move them from there.
appreciate your clear detailed explanation of the details!! did I say details enough! so many online tutorials 'assume' stuff that I dont know as a beginner! thank YOU. 🙂
They make this really hard. About to jump off Ableton bandwagon after putting thousands into this program lmao , too many limitations . You can’t even program keyboard shortcuts
Hey bud, so I can drag my writen arrangement view songs to session, put them on a clip, they are for bars in arrangement, but when I put them on a clip, and now I know to click the clip twice and it brings up options to loop it, the bar is longer than 4 so there is a little dead space before it loops around. I have to shorten it manually, what am I missing? Ive used Ableton a couple years but need some back tracking since I mainly write in arrangement.
So, I think I understand. But just to be clear, if someone were making a song, and does all this to send it to me, would I ten need to do the same if all I adjusted was timing, etc? Presumably, as they already have all the samples collected, having sent them to me in the first place, I can just then send them the tweaked .als back, and it will work if they put it in the folder?
If I am going to clean up my mac, can I first save my projects as you mentioned and place them on an external drive, and then place the files back to my cleaned up mac? (considering that I re installed Ableton and my current plugins again). Thanks!
I have a really terrible issue and i desperately need help. I've been producing for about a year now and to cut a long story short all my projects are saved within one project (the first one i ever made) I thought it was no problem as it as organised but now that I've come to trying to move and export stems for other computers' and producers to use i realise its become a huge issue as my files are always offline. is there any way i could sort this out, thanks in advance to anyone who knows
Exporting your music as an mp3 or wav is a completely different process! This video explains sharing your Ableton Live projects with someone else who will be opening it in Ableton Live on their own computer.
"Collect all and save" is irreversible. Once you choose that option to include sound packs, you cannot undo it to conserve disk space once sharing is no longer needed.
