Emily…that is such a beautiful and informative story on so many levels…u described the generation just before me and I never knew the full story of George Wallace and his asking for forgiveness from Lewis…so powerful/impactful. And to add emphasis to its importance and relevancy to my spiritual journey, my lesson today is 354 “We stand together, Christ and I, in peace and certainty of purpose. And in Him is His Creator, as He is in me. What can I say but…thank you! In gratitude!
Christians generally view Jesus's death as a payment for our sins that the rot inside humanity is too great that distance between us and God is to wide and that Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins so that God would forgive us and that we would go to heaven. Brutal picture isn't it? I do not believe what most Christians believe therefore I am not a Christian either. Thank you dearest Emily this was a helpful reminder that each of us are the light of the world💛☮️ I choose to live in Love ♥️

I have started listening to you for a while. I have studied the course since 2014. very challenging for me. what you have said makes me feel so powerless compared to jesus. you guys constantly want us to be as much like jesus. I find it difficult especially since i was not born into christianity. Jesus was LOve and all the goodies strong loving kind. you think living in this world with all the chaos, evilness and all I can love Khamenei ( in Iran) that runined my country killing and executing our young people? how can i be like Jesus?????? Jesus : you are asking for too much. Give me a more realistic solutions cant love the beast evil sorry i guess i will suffer
@@negarsadeghi2854 I’m so sorry for what you’re experiencing. We understand these are very high ideals and everyone is bound to fall short. As I shared in the sermon, my interest in the civil rights movement is because in it we have an example of the principles of nonviolent love overcoming and ultimately defeating the worst of humans evils. In the segment on Martin Luther King’s sermon on Loving Your Enemies, your critique of Jesus (i.e. he’s an impractical dreamer out of touch with the realities of this world) is addressed. A core tenet of nonviolence is that hate only fuels hate. Love is the only thing that redeems. Here’s a couple other resources. I am emphatic with the situation you find yourself in. I offer to you this look from a different perspective: Being like Jesus or just plainly practicing his teachings is not difficult at all, if you make an effort to realize that you, yourself are made out of the LOVE essence God & Jesus himself is made out of. Be love, live in love & try to see love in others & soon enough you’ll see that following Jesus teachings is in you. It’s all a matter of shifting awareness from one level (state) to another. I re read my comment above, ego is talking I know however this is what I experience everyday it is happening NOW in Iran and most places on the planet. It feels ego has a strong grasp on my little self nationality (my people are suffering and I suffer), I get it. Without the guidance of Holy Spirit and the Course in my life I strongly believe that would not be here today. Jesus gave life back to me and hope. But Ego is tough to crack, I'm on it. thank you

He says he needs active workers in the world, he tells us to listen, learn, and DO. So it’s not passive resistance to injustice. It’s action rooted in deep spiritual love. - Emily ♥️
