Дякую, що залишаєтесь зі мною так довго! I am safe now, but posting videos is problematic at this point! I really hope it will change soon, I really miss youtube!
Ура! How good to see you again! This might very well be one of your most pedagogical, informative (and for me personally - enlightening) videos ever. I've noticed and wondered over the different endings -но, -ен, -на, -не and -ні but never noticed the pattern (i.e. -но with verbs and the rest with nouns) before. I've blissfully ignored it and gone full "Мені потрібно..." with anything, which seems to have been understood (maybe with a raised eyebrow or two). Now I know better. Thank you! Now with "треба" on the other hand... Or maybe we should save that for a follow-up video..? :) "Треба" seems "easier" to use and some say they are interchangeable but I'm not sure that's completely true? I have a feeling "потрібно" is more of "need/must" ("my manager said I need/must be on time") while "треба" is more "need/ought to/really should" ("I need/ought to go to the gym more often"). Am I on the right track? Take your time with the videos. We'll wait. "Важлива не кількість, а якість." Oh - and congrats with 9k subs! /T
Thank you so much, I am glad you enjoyed the video! And it makes me very happy that people keep subscribing even though currently I cannot post on a regular basis like I used to. Yes, I might think of a follow up video on треба 🙂💙💛
Hola, como van?, Los mejores y más cordiales Saludos desde puente piedra, lima, Perú, ojalá que puedan venir en algún momento a mi país y que disfruten de la solidaridad, amabilidad, y fraternidad para con la gente que no gusta de la guerra y sus consecuencias, aqui podras disfrutar mucho de todo por aquí, con la familia y los amigos, felicidades por sus vídeos y que ustedes y los suyos esten bien, sean bienvenidos siempre.
Why is that "потрібно" used when the noun is in genitive? Is there a related grammer rule? Мені потрібен цукор vs mені потрібно трохи цукру; мені потрібна одна штука vs мені потрібно п'ять штук.
[Трохи (чого?) цукру], [багато (чого?) грошей], [більше (чого?) часу] are word combinations and the connection between two words is expressed by genitive case, we cannot break it, they should be treated as one item in that case. Мені потрібно (що?) [трохи (чого?) цукру]; йому потрібно більше часу Йому потрібно (що?) [більше (чого?) часу].
@@LetsLearnUkrainian appreciate your answer; my question was about the usage of "потрібно"; why is that the gender or quantitative specific потрібен/потрібна/потрібне/потрібні are replaced by потрібно when the noun is in genitive (as I tried to highlight in the examples I gave above)?
