Hi I’ve struggled with OCD for a long time now but main thing I struggle with is putting things off like goals and starting new hobbies because it doesn’t feel like the perfect time or conditions aren’t perfect or it doesn’t feel like the right time to start them. By putting these things off that I want to achieve is that a compulsion that I’m doing? Many thanks.

Absolutely! Avoidance is a very commonn comulsion done to alleviate the discomfort and only makes you feel worse.

I get unwanted compulsions to make vows I don't want to make and keep to god and am so afraid if I make the vow to be a catholic priest god is going to expect me to be a catholic priest and don't want to because they are not allowed to marry and feel relentless pressure to say the vow against my will and this causes me severe stress and torment. I get mad at god thinking he is trying to make me submit to making a vow I don't want to make and keep. I feel like my free will is being violated and something is being forced on me because I can't stop thinking about it

You can stop thinking about it, you probably just don't have the tools yet. Visit my website to get a free Recovery Guide & Workbook, then join a program so we can teach you the recovery skills. You CAN overcome this! www.MyOCDCoach.om

Is it possible to have several subsets of OCD at a time?
@MyOCDCoach
@MyOCDCoach Месяц назад
Absolutely! I've had more than one subset (relationship, harm, health, somatic, just right). I would say that about 50-60% of my clients have more than one subset.

Is it possible to not do compulsions and still have the thoughts be relentless? I really don’t think I do a compulsion but the thoughts are constant

You have compulsions, you just aren't away of them. For example - trying to get rid of the thoughts, ruminating or analyzing about the topic of your thoughts, checking your thoughts or feelings, to name a few.
