I am so glad to have found this channel ! I've been studying Russian for two years now and still struggling. I just LOVE this language so much and am DYING to be fluent in it. It's really comforting when you find native english speakers who had to learn, there is such an understanding of the experience and process.

Great lesson! really clear and concise. Thank you for the practice sheets which are really helpful too. Quick question, why is it "вас" instead of "вы" не было на семинаре?
When something or someone wasn't somewhere and you're noticing their absence you literally say, "there was none of...". So you're literally saying, "Why was there none of you at the seminar?" It sounds funny, but that's how you talk about the absence of something.
Right???? I always tell my students that. That certain equations need certain treatments. The problem is that if they hate math (like I do) this scares them away haha

@@howjaneylearned Все говорит о том,что слово "бежать" привезли с собой из Украины в Москву карьеристы большевики после 1918-го года и адаптировали в новый российский язык как получилось. Forrest Gump: Run Forrest, run! Беги, Форест, беги! (русский) Біжи, Форест, біжи! (украинский) Biegnij Forrest, biegnij! (польский) В стороне от больших городов РФ можно услышать "Он бегит", а в больших городах скорее скажут "он бежит". Официально говорят: "заключенные совершили побег из тюрьмы", но не "заключенные сбежали из тюрьмы"
