How to Scan a Document to your Phone 

My daughter is so proud of me as I figured out how to scan a document she needed so I could send it to her. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THESE VERY SIMPLE TUTORIALS.!! I'm middle aged and did not grow up with computers, living on a farm in rural America.

Thank you Kevin for this tutorial. I didn’t aware of Microsoft Office app has scanning function. I was using normal Lens app and it was buggy. Now it is fine.

Well Done! I asked this on another of your excellent tutorials, Kevin; if I want to email attached a compressed but still color pdf, what do you recommend to get under file attachment limits? A secondary compression like "pdf smaller" worked, but I wonder if MS has something integrated since Office "filter" choices don't compress enough on a multi-page HW submit from/to students... Thx.

Thanks for your straightforward tutorial. Some phone scanning apps state theirs is better for business cards because theirs auto-names the electronic file and/or adds to your contacts. I have a lot of business cards I don't wish to add to my contacts, but instead would love to add it to an excel spreadsheet. A generic spreadsheet by microsoft would be fine, or else customizable to my own contact spreadsheet I've had for years. In fact, I probably wouldn't want it in my own spreadsheet because that has trusted personal contacts I know well, as opposed to a business card contact I may never call. So it would be awesome if it could simply scan into a pre-made Office excel spreadsheet of scanned business cards of untrusted contacts. Thanks!

I'm a horrible typist. I use this with the OCR feature to import longer citations or quotes. Very helpful!

I really like Office Lens phone scanner compared to other phone scanners, including your naming convention year first. I wish it would add 'Scan' text to beginning of name, and/or allow us to change the text added to beginning of name before year/date. Also in addition to my comment below, I wish the business card could be automatically imported to a growing excel spreadsheet with generic columns of business name, employee name, address, website, phone number. Thank you, it works very well.

Thanks for this Kevin. Just one question - is there a limit to the number of pages I can scan to create a single pdf file? I needed to scan an exam paper with 27 pages. The app allowed me to keep capturing each page but then when I clicked done at the end, ready to move to the share options, all the pages disappeared!! I tried this twice - the same thing happened each time.

Out of context... But I would like to download original ms office 2019.. how do I go about it... Could you make a comple video on downloading and installing it.... Cause sometime one may not have internet access and without it office doesn't work for opening word or excel sheets

The Office/Lens interface had some minor changes or looks different in my Android phone (options, such as share or save options are not the same either). When I use Office in my Android cellphone then "+" then Scan (and select PDF file type) typewritten pages it saves a PDF file that have not been OCR'd (like a photo that you cannot select text). However, it saves the same scans correctly OCR'd and with text if I use directly the Lens app I already had installed a few years ago (that app is not within Office). Are you getting the PDF's OCR'd when you use Lens through the Office app? If yes, Why my lens when used from Office apps is not doing OCR (it is really a PDF of pictures)?

Hey Kevin, I have a Android Note 8 and I need to be able to download, open, sign, and email a document 😪 no printer/scanner near me and library is still closed. What app do you suggest? Also the form I can fill out online but not sign it 🤷🏽‍♂️
