Join Tribble Painting's Project Manager, Aaron as he takes you from the first step in scraping paint off natural wood siding. Make sure to do your research into proper tools and methods for the surface you want to scrape. Each scraping project is different than the last. This is one of the most important steps in getting a new paint job and doing it correctly can save you loads of money down the road.
Tribble Painting recommends two different types of scraping for projects like these. A nifty 5-in-1 carpenters tool and a carbide scraper, both of which can be purchased from any painting or home supply store. To protect the ground and ensure clean up is easy as possible, we always keep a roll of painter's plastic and painters tape needed to get the job done right. The orange painter's tape is rated highest for adhesion in our toolkit to ensure it sticks to brick and other external surfaces that require more stick with little risk of pulling off paint when you are done.
Take your time, and you won't be doing it again in a few months! Good luck with your next project!
