thanks for the video. I really wanted to use puff in for a specific design and normal print on kind of top of that :( so you don't recommend to print over the puff ink? Also I am using water based inks, is that any different? thank you.
@squeegeeandink
@squeegeeandink 5 месяцев назад
Hey, it is a technique to print the base and then the colour on top! there are a few good ways to do it for sure. The technique is the same for waterbased and plastsiol puff so you will be fine either way!

QUESTION: Does the spare ink you have left over at the end keep? or do you need to dispose of it like discharge ink? Thanks for the informative video.
@fyahflyscreenprint
@fyahflyscreenprint 2 года назад
As long as it's stored at room temperature, any left over ink should last for years, just like any plastisol ink :) Just don't let it get so cold it freezes. Plastisol doesn't like that very much XD I imagine that shouldn't be too much of an issue for you guys down under though! Happy printing :)

Hey, the ink is fine to go back in the tub, we just make sure to label it so we don't confuse it for normal ink! haha

You mentioned like 7 layers of emulsion while coating the 21t. Do you just mean a ton of "strokes" or like letting it dry and then coating it again?
@squeegeeandink
@squeegeeandink Год назад
Hey, I tend to build up the layers for high density emulsion by coating in front of a fan heater, so the layers aren't drying but having a skin made on them. I will eventually make a whole video about when I feel I know enough!

Can you cure with a flash dryer or a heat press? Love the effect!!!
@squeegeeandink
@squeegeeandink 2 года назад
Technically you can with the heat gun or flash, the ink needs to reach 165 degrees for around 30 seconds to a minute depending on the thickness of ink deposited. I prfer the conveyor dryer for speed and to know it is fully cured. A heat press would probably push the puff down flat again.

Hi what kind of material would puff ink be considered once it's on the shirt? Plastic? rubber?
@squeegeeandink
@squeegeeandink 2 года назад
Hi, Its not really rubber.. thats a difficult question as it feels quite like rubber but is still just plastic based.

If your addictive is milk color and the normal ink is green, won't it affect the color when you eventually add the addictive to the normal ink?
@abbaskhan6238
@abbaskhan6238 Год назад
The puff base is not milk color but its transparent but look off white when mixed with any plastic-sole shade the color changes and becomes dull black turns grey so on printers use opaque shades to get good result mixing should be perfect as the manufacture recommends that vert important print the same plain shade as under-base print the puff then again print the same under-base shade on top of the puff and cure test and see the results.

What temperature do you cure ?
@squeegeeandink
@squeegeeandink Год назад
Hey, waterbased inks tend to be around 165 degrees Celsius after the water has evaporated from the garment. I have a really in depth video about curing ink on the channel too, Any questions or topics you want us to cover make sure you use #printerscorner as we are about to start answering questions in more depth 🤓

Is it possible to puff print on a stitch/hem of shorts?
@squeegeeandink
@squeegeeandink 2 года назад
Hey, I suppose so. It would likely puff in a different way over seams than over normal un-interrupted fabric though.
