It is Chinese, and "kanji" actually means "汉字"/"han zi", translated into English is "Chinese character."

@@williamberne Well kanji is used in both Chinese and Japanese, only that Chinese uses only kanji while Japanese has also hiragana and katakana. Even though they both use the same characters, those characters are read completely differently and have different meanings depending on the language.
