🔥🥩 Get ready for tender, juicy New York Strip Steak that will make you want to cancel your dinner reservations!
In this episode of Backyard Bosses, we'll teach you how to sear, smoke, and slice into a NY Strip steak fit for a high-end steakhouse!
You'll just need a few simple ingredients, and of course, a Pit Boss Wood Pellet Grill!
Here's how Andrew did it 👇
💨Ingredients:
New York Strip Steak
Pit Boss Chophouse Steak Rub
Optional: Finishing Salt
🔥 Pellet Smoker Setup: We'll walk you through exactly how to get your Pit Boss 1600 Elite Wood Pellet Grill set up for this easy and delicious wood-fired steak recipe!
For this cook, we recommend setting your unit to "Smoke Mode" before getting the grill fired up! This will allow for additional smoke even at higher temperature settings.
We also recommend filling your hopper with quality pellets for the best results! Andrew filled his hopper with Pit Boss Hickory Blend Pellets because the bold Hickory flavor pairs well with beef!
👨🍳 Cooking Process: In this episode, we'll show you how to season, sear, smoke, and slice into a perfectly cooked NY Strip Steak!
For this cook, we used Pit Boss Chophouse Steak Rub! The Garlic, Onion, and Salt in this rub perfectly complement the grass-fed beef NY Strip Steak Andrew chose for this cook!
To achieve the perfect cook, we recommend searing the strip steak for 2 minutes on each side before placing it on the top rack to continue cooking the steak until it reaches an internal temperature of 125°F to 130 °F.
🔥 Smoking Time & Temperature: Sear at 500°F for 2 minutes per side, then place the steak on the top rack, and continue to cook at 500°F until an internal temperature of 125°F to 130 °F has been reached.
😋 Taste Test: The most important part of any cook is the taste test! Get ready to bite into juicy and delicious NY Strip steak cooked to perfection on the Pit Boss!
This NY strip steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and topped with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt
