I just made a very nice Tea Caddy out of Walnut and Cherry. Now my son wants a watch box, but he has lots of requirements. One of them is a secret compartment. It's going to be the mother of all watch boxes, but it needs to be done before he graduates with his PhD. Thanks for your videos. They're very helpful.

I just watched a couple of videos and I really like the way you do the fast forward parts. The sound while going fast is not annoying and is actually kinda funny (unlike many other fast forward videos I've seen). You show just enough to see what you're doing and then skip to the next part by cutting bits, that gives a bit of a stop motion feel to it, which I really like. Keep up the good work, both on creating cool and awesome woodwork aswell as the editing of your videos.

This is a fantastic box and your instructions are perfectly clear and easy to follow - awesome job! Once question though - why use a "spring block" instead of simply attaching the spring to the rear wall of the compartment? Wouldn't that make it easier to build as well as gain some more space in the secret drawer?

I remember hating wood glue, but now that I'm older using it does miracles. Really good looking box the wearing out process was pretty nifty to watch. I'm not the best at wood working but it's worth a go.

Very nice work, and I learned several things on this one. Love those projects done with free/readily available wood. I just now posted a video on my channel where the customer requested pine as well as a dark brown stain and distressed look.

would love to see more secret compartment videos. I find it fascinating how you come up with the secret mechanisms and how to hide the compartment. Until the very end, I didn't get how it was going to be hidden, then TA DA...I got it. :) Thanks for the video.

I love the birdie flip about CNC haters! Most people don't have any of these tools but you might have somebody close who has them, professional builder or another hobbyist who can lend tools or workshop for the public (or for members only). There are options. I just recently found out that there is a workshop near me with all the tools for a 10€-40€/moth cost. Before I had no knowledge of this kind of places and had a thought about workshops with memberships. Seems that someone had that thought already. And it seems that most people who whine in the internet haven't even TRYED to find solutions (applies with almost every topic and every discussion). Only options seems to be just buying everything from a shop for a full price of TOO MUCH $$$. Keep it up and advertise your local workshop or other options! Your secret compartment boxes have been cool so far. I might check other vidyas later.. :)
