Hey kittens, in this week's video I show you a cool trick I learned to secure down wigs to your head. This works for both every day and costuming. And all you need is some supplies from your local store. Bare in mind this method works best if you don’t plan on changing your wig.

THANK YOU! i do cosplay sometimes and wigs slipping is such an annoying issue. i guess my wig caps tend to be too small for my already small head and my slippery hair poofing up doesn't help matters 😩 i've never known how to keep them secure. i will definitely do this next time! thank you jaymes!!

That was super helpful! I went to a couple of drag shows and did the got to be glue gel thing but my wig always started sliding off at the end of the night. I like how you glued the wig cap down first and you used hair spray too. Definitely going to try this the next time I wear a wig.

Thank you for this. You made a fan out of me for the Got 2 Be Glued line. Being a professional hairdresser by day I had no idea that Schwarzkopf had such an affordable product line. Most hairsprays and gels out there are just crazy expensive. I guess I need to order some travel sizes for the gel. PS. You know of a reliable shoe out there for guys that are not overly high, like 3" but made for a wide foot? My toe box looks like a Neanderthal (LOL) so it's REALLY hard for me to find drag shoes and Payless Shoes are gone! I miss that place! XOXOXO

How does this work with sweating? I find most adhesives, melt off me. Suggestions?

uldron This could be a dumb suggestion, but maybe powdering over the adhesive could help keep it matte and protected from sweat.. hmm, maybe not protected from the sweat because it comes up through the scalp, but maybe it could stop it from coming through and showing.. lol just a thought. I could be totally off though

Oldman Ontheinternet it's a great suggestion and I do just that. But its finding the right adhesive to not melt off from the swear.

Have you tried Prosade? It is more water/sweat resistant than spirit gum.

i use GTBG for my boy hair for years. and its sweat proof almost. when used with the spay ....just dab it u sud b fine...

I know this is an old comment but there are specific wig glues this is actually a “glueless” method it’s easy to remove if you prefer not to sleep in your wig and/or not pull your edges out

It depends on what kind of wig you have. A full 360 lace wig, yes. If its just a lace front, then no.
