Brian, Great video on TP Link setup. Excellent! Just bought the Archer AX5400 Pro v1.0. and I followed your suggestions, and did a firmware update as well so I am at Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 20240331 rel.51081(5553). I am concerned about the security of TP Link, there have been comments on Reddit, and else where, that the routers have malware imbedded in the firmware, and even a hidden back door. First, is any or this true? How would you test and fix such a problem? Regards, Mike

why is it more secure to chnge the LAN ip address? as you do from 0>99

It makes it a little more difficult for someone to guess it but more importantly if you're going to use the remote access VPN feature of this router it helps to not have the same IP address information as someone else's

nothing comes up in the default gateway for me

If you have a static IP address that would be something you'd have put in manually. As long as you're plugged in on the yellow ports should give you an IP address with a gateway to manage it. Thanks for watching be sure to like and subscribe

If my router is scanable does it mean it's not secure?
@blackburn32197

You can always scan what ports are open but for best practices it is best to lock it down as much as possible

Brother in Christ. Please buy asus router next time. Even better a gaming asus router. Maybe even 3 wireless networks asus router. But tp-link has awesome archer axe16000 router. But you should use what you like. But invest in your network infrastructure. You can be god of wifi and ethernet with some lan moon dust. But with asus bro. Asus makes best shit on a market right now. Like rapture models or tuf models or even average ax models. Great that you like your new expirience. Have a great weekend. Thank You. Best chrome bro asus.
