Hey All! I made a bit of a small mistake. If you ALREADY have hosting with Namehero or Any Web Host, you get skip the payment by going to your CPANEL - Zone Editor - Click A Record, And Than Enter In The A Name Record ( you Dont Have To Pay and This Works For ALL Web Hosting Services )
Hey Darrel, great vid! It made me think of my next planned website. Can you tell what exactly is needed, how many plugins to make a (smallish) e-commerce website secure? Like what is needed to make a webiste secure as possible: SSL, Sucuri and so on. It would help lot of viewers to ease their minds as website creation or making a website as secure as possible can be really overwhelming.
One thing I like to do is not have WP accessible on the main URL page. I prefer to have a plain html page that requires the user to click on a link to go to the wp side of things. Why? I've noticed that every WP hacker, assumes that the address is URL/wp here. You can block by IP address, but they often do number a.number b.number c.1-255, changing this last number so that your IP blocking is useless. Plus, IP addresses keep changing over time, as to which country now has that IP address.
Should we use different plugin for different security task such as loginizer, wps hide login, limit login attempts, recaptcha, 2FA, etc because I heard that all in one feature security plugin like wordfence and ithemes slows down the website, is that true? what are your thoughts and recommendation?
I want to move blogger to WordPress but one of the most problem is security, wordpress not gives any security against hacking, SQL Injection, Remote File Inclusion (RFI), Cross Site Scripting and others. Can you make next video in this topic because sir no video available on this topic in whole RU-vid. Sir I trust you. Please sir, I am your subscriber. I completely follow your suggestion in your video.
One option is to not have WP accessible on the main URL page. I prefer to have a plain html page that requires the user to click on a link to go to the wp side of things. WP hacker's tend to assumes that the address is URL/wp here. If you install WP in a folder with a complicated name, it makes it harder to the hacker to guess that folder name.
This is what confuses me. I have the free Wordfence version, considering getting the paid version. However it doesn't change the wp-admin login page and a few other things that Securi or Malcare do. I really don't know which one to use as I'll be taking payments through the site once it's live. Everyone has different opinions, does anyone have any recommendations on what is the most complete solution?
Great tutorial as usual. You truly are a RockStar WordPress expert. Thanks for your contribution to the community. I hope you will consider making a DIVI tutorial very soon. #Thanks.
I always use Wordfence over at managedwp. One of the primary reasons for this is that it detects abandoned plugins and plugins which have been removed from wordpress.org. These are both big reasons for websites being hacked. These types of plugins usually end up with vulnerabilities, either due to not being updated or becaus ethey have been purchased or hijacked by criminals. No other security plugin I have tries does this. And yes the free version of Wordfence certainly does protect your website, better than sucuri in fact, it does NOT just monitor it as stated.
I like your content but in this video did you just share a bunch of user information? We saw usernames, names, and emails. You even shared your admin's email and username. I am asking cause it seems legit based on what you said but not sure if this is a testing or showcase WP for your videos.
Hi! please I followed all your video and did everything but you didn't explain from where I Can get the "API Key" that is needed in the plugin on WordPress dashboard, they ask for it , can you please mention from where I can get it???
Hi Darrel, Installed according to your video with changing the dns and a record. (Used you affiliate ling too) My question is after doing so, is there anything you need to do with the plugin in wordpress? Do we still need it? APi Key , delete it, ect ??
I want to get Sucuri firewall pro. My hosting is at NameHero but my registrar is NameCheap. Do I point the DNS on the NameCheap or NameHero dashboard? Also, I already have NameHero's free SSL certificate so do I need to switch to Sucuri's SSL certificate? Thanks.
