Streaming with 1 monitor can be pretty awkward since you don't have a second monitor to read your Twitch chat, RU-vid chat, Facebook chat etc on. Today, I'll show you how to see your chat while streaming with OBS Studio by using a program that let's you show your Twitch chat in game, as wel as any other platforms when being a bit creative. The program allows you to show your stream chat as an overlay on top of the game by making it click-through and a bit transparent.

If OBS doesn't let you make a window transparent -> don't run it as admin cause it blocks the program from controlling the obs dock

Wow. I just bought a 2nd monitor just to see the comments in my stream so I can reply to them. If I knew this before, I would've not buy that for dual monitor purpose. Very helpful video🤘

HUGE W video here. I am a smaller streamer and sometimes don't get a lot of chatters and when I do see a chat, it's 3-4 minutes late and they have already left. Can't wait to try this program out!

For some reason this doesn't work for me anymore. IDK if its the game or what but the window will go transparent, but it won't be visible unless active. I can't see it in game, which is windowed. It just doesn't stay up its weird.

Fix for Not Working: So what I found was you have to disable 'run as admin' within OBS application properties under advance option in properties and within the computability tab as well to get it to work. So two places where 'run as admin' sneaks its way into your obs compatibility are within "advance" option when you right click on application in taskbar, desktop icon for program, or after navigating to program file location.

Is this still doable in 2024? Read somewhere that I need stream elements to be able to see my chat while broadcasting on Twitch, but here it looks that OBS already has a chat feature...

My docks do not go on top of my games, they are always below, and I cannot put them on top without OBS being on top. I also think this video is a little outdated because now you CAN sign in to RU-vid on OBS and connect your account.

Whenever I click on something outside of OBS, it also gets rid of my docks and this also happens when it's minimized. I'm currently not in a game either and just clicking onto my browser. Any fixes? If not, I'm switching back to Streamlabs 😞

HI. Question. I took notice that you have A LOT of Overlays in Stream Elements. Why is that? What is the benefit of having so many individual Overlay when when you can create a single Overlay Project you can add multiple Overlay for other alerts in that single Overlay Canvas. This is helpful but my problem lies in Twitch chat itself 😫 I'm not sure when it started, but my twitch chat doesn't show up chat. I found out that someone was chatting to me when I looked at the chat on OBS(have my Twitch account connected). It's so funny how the OBS shows someone chatting and Twitch itself doesn't, on all platforms(mobile app, website) 😣 I think I'm going back to streaming on RU-vid I'll try connecting my chat to elements before I go back tho... 1 last troubleshooting

wow thats so cringe that you cant put windows over a fullscreen app. like. thats a blatant advantadge that twitch studio has that nobody has credited. to get your chat over a fullscreen app, it has to be coded as an overlay, not a seperate window. and it appears that only SLOBS and Twitch Studio can make that happen. what i really want is to be able to press a hotkey to display my chat, saving screen real estate for when im focused.

I did all steps but I can't seperate Twitch Chat box from OBS. When I switch broswer/another program the Twitch Chat Box disopears untill I bring up OBS again. I'm totally confused whats going on. I moused over the Chat page and did key press but still nothing. OBS itself refuses to comply with key press for see through keeps giving notification error
