AutoCAD has very interesting selection options: 1) left to right - the object will be selected when the entire object is in the selection area, 2) right to left - an object will be selected when even a small part of the selection area passes through it.

I like "autocad method" top left -> right bottom : select objects in, right bottom -> top left select intersections

just bought Affinity and i was worried about how the affinity object selection works. this is a grat tip since I'm coming from Adobe Illustrator

is another way that allows us to press the left mouse button and drag it through the objects to be selected, and finally, releasing the left button and immediately activating the right mouse button, they create a selection that has touched these objects.

there is a better way. When selecting, simply hold down the left mouse button, do not release it, just press the right one and keep both buttons pressed and select the objects. Let me know if it worked for you. 😇
