@@keeleycooper7296 did you do it? This is the exact reason I'm here for this video. I don't think I can do it lol I did t realize how much needle needed to go into me 😱 I have a feeling if I actually get it in that I won't be able to pull it out and will just be running around screaming with a syringe hanging out of my a**
LOL I'm here in 2024 cuz my husband is absolutely terrified of needles and my mom is currently sick and kind of shivering so I don't trust her to do it right now so here I go😅
This maybe silly but I am not flexible enough to use 2 hands. So doing it myself one handed kind of scares me, especially if i want to alternate left and right as I am not left handed.
I was given by my pharmacy a 3ml syringe with an 18gauge needle attached already and was told to use this setup for BOTH drawing out my testosterone and injecting into my muscle. Would that be okay to do?
Wish I had seen this video 2 years ago. The leg cross idea makes it easier. I’ve been pulling the plunger back before squeezing the liquid in (to make sure I got the spot). But this is really difficult to do.
Attention! after penetration - before injection you need to aspirate by negative pressure. if there is no blood you can inject the medicine inside muscle. Very helpful video .
this is actually outdated information and can cause more trauma....Don't take my word for it do some research yourself but aspirating isn't necessary hence why she didn't say it
Saludos desde Teteles, Puebla! I was just looking for this; I used to have a friend who would come to give me a flu shot or penicilin, depending. Well... I tested positive for covid (total bummer!) Anyways... thank you so much Chief Nurse! (if you aren't, you must be promoted!) I really do! Muchas muchas gracias!!
There is no major vessel in glutes.thats why there are specific IM sites. In bulk muscles I don't think there is any risk of finding any blood vessels in the way of injection
Please could you explain about the decision not to aspirate? For me this is the biggest problem with self-injecting - if I aspirate like most informational videos state, then the additional "fiddling" leads to more muscle pain in the injection site. If I don't have to aspirate, that's very good news for my next run of 8 weeks(!) of self-administered injections! But I'd like to understand what risks I might be taking.
@@ELBarbarro From when is no longer recommanded, i ve just finished the school yesterday the last exam:) and in our book still advise us to do that ! So… how about reading more…. Could make you smarter… and do not advise people about something you donnot knew very well!
@@ancar-j3901 what school? Aspiration for IM injections are no longer recommended. Nonetheless, I’m assuming that was b12 based on the red color. With that said, aspiration is pointless being you wouldn’t be able to tell.
@@LG-ht5bc :) so all my teachers were stupid with all their books? No? Strange…. They are doctors… i had like teachers 5 doctors and 4 nurses…. Maybe they need to grow more like experience no? :) common …. In europe, i’m from europe , romania. It was 3 years school…. Whatever ….. i prefer to trust the teachers not youtube persons! Have a nice night!
@@tasha9650 Aspiration is not needed if you actually inject in one of the four zones. It's no longer proper medical procedure. The areas you are supposed to inject in will not have any major blood vessels, and aspiration makes the injection more painful with no science backed reason to do it.
