Very clear demonstration. I machine bind (completely), but I will definitely try this technique. For some fabrics, the horizontal and vertical binding can be a bit jarring to the eye (from other examples). I saw another demonstrate without bothering to press--and stating, incorrectly, that if there is a twist, it will right itself. Fabric DNA does not work that way. No matter what method one is using, careful pressing is best practice, and you demonstrated that in spades.

When I realized the pressing was for me and not for the quilt police my sewing really started looking great! It was a big step in my quilter's journey!

Thanks! That was a vintage handsewn quilt that I finished for a customer. It was made by her grandmother and going to her granddaughters, so it spans at least 4 generations so far!
