“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is to tighten your own microlocs with one of those tools.” Sayeth me from the book of heck naw! I applaud you for demonstrating this. And you did this hundreds of times over? Gurl, I would handover my checkbook and my first born to pay someone to do this for me! You deserve thousands more subscribers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I'm at the point in my Sisterlocks journey where I'm learning how to do my own reties bc I have face some discrimination from these loctician In Atlanta. Took me 3 hours for the back half and its wasn't that bad. I caught up on my show while doing it. I work from home so def something I can do during the work day easily. I just bought my tools bc I was using my fingers lol But excited about learning how to retie my own hair! Thanks for the great tutorial!!
North to south West to east South to north East to west (To end going LEFT) South to north East to west North to south West to east (To end on RIGHT) Basically, start in your mind with the direction you want it to face towards. Then plan backward, staggering N + S and E + W directions.
I know this video is 3 years old but thank the algorithm gods for putting this in my feed this was soooo helpful and your absolutely beautiful and your hair looks amazing 💜
Love it! I started my micro lock journey a little over a week ago. Your videos really inspired me to go ahead and start the journey, as well as document mine on youtube so i can hopefully inspire someone else.
The NappyLoc tool is the best in quality and shape. I’ve had mine for about 15 years and it’s still in great shape. I doubt the others I’ve purchased will last as long.
Thank you very much for the clear demonstration. Since the Coronavirus has the world in its grip, I'm forced to tighten my own sisterlocks. All nonessential businesses are closed. A thousand thanks!!!
I am really thinking about cutting out my locs and I'm so sad. I have so much hair and two inches of new growth. I'm not sure I can do this without messing up my hair or taking a week! I hate corona!!!! 😭😭😭
A little tip when you're washing use a plastic fork to get in between the locs. It may sound a bit ghetto but it works...I tried it on my recent wash this weekend. You did a very good job Kendra!
@@brandinicole7992 yes it is. It wasn't even planned. As I was washing my hair my scalp was itching so badly, I looked over...fork on the counter, I grabbed it and started using on my scalp, it felt amazing, so I said I must share this with ya'll.
Thank you for generously sharing this knowledge Kendra!! Out here in a little village in Kenya, far away from the big city, DIY is the only possibility for me and my daughters. I appreciate your video more than you will know. May you be blessed!!
Happy Sunday Friends!! Here is a breakdown of the video 🤗 Tool Used: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aUb5Txb1XGs.html Retighten Demo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aUb5Txb1XGs.html
Your hair has really grown in two months. I have two size of nappy loc tools and that other tool you have. Believe it or not I use them all. My locs are different sizes and I have different hair textures. They all have different purposes. Also you fingers are great interlocking tools.
Wow I recently did some for my little girl n I used the pin to pass through one place n after finishing I realized that the is a big hole in between so with ur tutorial I will do my best next time. Thanks a lot.
I'll check out the nappy loc tool. I have the other one as well and I too could feel my roots getting pulled and accidentally merged locs due to the size. Since no salons are open I've been doing the 2 point rotation, and I'm cutting my re-tighten time in half : )
alyssa whitehead I would love to see this too!! The back on my hair had slippage so bad and shorter than the rest of my hair. I need to redo the back and sides.
Your locs are beautiful! I would really love to try to do my own but it will take me a long time since I'll have to take a lot of breaks to rest my shoulder.
Love this tutorial ❤️ you did a great job! I did my locs myself starting with the 2 strand twist but was struggling with loccing them. Your video got me all the way together. Thanks babes
+++ Thanks you are very informative and step by step. I left the US over 12 years ago and they became hard to maintain. Before I'd go to the salon, now I can take care of them thanks to you. Happy New Year and you saved me time and money.
I am retighten my hair this weekend thanks to coronavirus. I’ve tried to wait but my sister locks haven’t been retightened since Jan so this weekend it’s me and these locs!
Goodluck!!! I havent had a rethigten since feb and it's a hot mess. I'm afraid of all the new growth I have and combining locs by accident. I need her patience!
I’m definitely going to do this for point turn interlocking October 4 will be my first interlocking gonna be my six weeks. I love when she says boom. Boom. Boom LOL north east south west that’s a really good way to see it
Thank you so much for sharing, I started mine with braid locks because I did it myself and couldn't get my mind and fingers to work together for twist lol but this helps me alot with the retie process. Thank you again 😊
Hey Kendra, Girl I hope your getting an affiliate kick back from your links because I ordered 2 of those loc tools and it’s cost me over $40 but I ordered them because it’s what you used. I got the micro and the small. They have a discount if you order 2. But you know a Sista is always looking to save a coin so I was like dang I wish she had a coupon code for us that beat the site discount, I hope she is at least an affiliate. I know they are getting good sales from you because I hurried up and ordered 😂
This is amazing. I am considering loc'ing my hair. I have a short TWA with pretty good length to get started. I am watching a lot of videos trying to learn as much and know which loc style is for me.
Beautiful !! lots of work , I had locs for about 7 plus years love them but didn’t know how to embrace my grey i did the chop lol now I’m loc ish. Lol I do a two strand twist and twist out. Thanks for sharing
Stephanie Campbell Hello I hope all is well, I don’t color my grey cause the color don’t stay no matter how professionally done the color goes away around the crown of my head , and I had to have a high peroxide to lift it cause my grey is really white it’s not the traditional grey. I love it now
I've so much grey in the front of my hair and I use the hair mascara stick which works well for me. I'm resisting dying my hair. I'm only a year loc'd. Maybe something to consider if you decide to re-loc your hair.
Katsu Digital lol I sweat that out lol I’m not trying to cover the grey I love it now , although I’m rocking some crochet hair that is black because they ran out of grey hair in my style of hair that I purchased. Lol it was funny they said all of the young girls are buying up the grey quick lol , I got the stick and the black edge control gel which is off the chain it last a little longer. But the gel does last a bit longer but I recently got a bundle of grey mixed hair from amazon which is white like my hair oh yess I will chain my hair next month oh yessss
I know this was 2 years ago but do you still use this tool? I just ordered it because although my hair is longer it's a pain using that bigger tool. It's good for my son's larger locs but not my micros. And yes I have looped two locs and it is a total bitch getting them apart. I need something smaller to help me re-tighten easier.
