Start selling on Etsy with the help of EverBee! Buy one month, get one month of EverBee for free (limited offer) 👉 tinyurl.com/dinaeverbee Update: On January 4, 2024, Etsy made an announcement about third-party integrations and this is what it means for EverBee users: • This will only affect one part of EverBee Email, namely the ability to send the Order Confirmation emails. • This will have no effect on sending the subscriber campaigns or on automatically adding Etsy products to the emails. • Users can still build their list on EverBee Email with alternative methods. For example, with EverBee Email you can build your landing page - EverBee has a Subscriber page (under the Subscriber tab).
It's been 1 month I'm start on Etsy.. and have my first sale.. but then Etsy put me in holiday mode. Because need to verified my ID 😂😭.. I hope will get better soon and now I'm making more listing.. now you are my favorite RU-vidr to start my Etsy shop.. sorry my English very bad.. from Malaysia ♥️
this is literally the kind of tip i was looking for when i got interested on selling digital products! i cant believe that people actually want to help others without having to pay for a course for those who are clueless abt these things. kudos! new subscriber here :)
also, i have a question. there are tiktok videos that is going around my fyp showing how a paid course helped people sell digital products, but it seems more like a marketing strategy. the course offers tips for beginners, free templates, and a website. as a student, i'm interested in making and selling canva templates but can't afford the course. your video made me realize free resources like yours might be enough. should i still pay for the course, or would it be a waste of money since i can learn online for free?
I'm so happy to hear you're finding my free content useful! (Full transparency I do have a course now haha, an Etsy listing photos course: dinalu.store/etsy-listing-photos-course) Paid courses can be REALLY great. I've bought several courses in the past and for the most part they've been amazing. I don't really use Tiktok so I haven't seen those courses on selling digital products... but they CAN be great, or maybe not. Free content is great but a lot of the times it's not STRUCTURED like a paid course. Of course you can definitely watch free content forever and still make money from it. With a paid course, in the best case scenario you'd get a shortcut to making money because it saves you time to learn all the things. Some paid courses can be a good investment, but I'd do due diligence on the creator and see if you really trust them / if the course is really a fit for what you're trying to do. So... it depends!
The title made me expect the video to be more about the selling part of things than the creating part, like marketing, SEO, and such. I've been watching your videos for a while and in your last few months you had a huge increase in sales, you clearly made some changes that helped you gain those sales. Could you please make a video about it? You inspired me to start with Etsy a few months ago and I've been able to make consistent sales, but I haven't reached my goal yet. You figured out something that could help all of us. Pleeeaaaaseeeee tell us more.🙏
Thank you so much! 💕 And yes, I realize the video could have covered a lot more. I'll make a note to cover those in another video. And thanks for the video suggestion!
Thanks for your helpful videos! I’m going to start a business on Etsy, and so far your videos are the most understandable and valuable for me 🥰 waiting for new videos
I’m interested in doing this, but I’m wondering what makes people come to Etsy for Canva templates when Canva already has their own templates? How does that make for a successful business?
Hi! New follower here! I am considering starting with digital marketing this year and I find your videos really helpful 🙌🏼 so, thank you so much and I will be watching your tutorials often 🤗
I have a question. If I sell my templates on Etsy, but I stop paying for Canva Pro and my account will be regular - will people buying my template still be able to personalize their template still, if their template includes pro designs or features?
If you had pro elements in the templates for your customers, and they used your template link to access the canva template, they will need a pro subscription or pay for the pro elements individually, regardless of whether or not you have a canva pro subscription. Whoever uses the pro elements in their own canva account will need to pay for pro
Great video information, Thank you! But I completed the steps to receive the download checklist and did not receive it. I checked my inbox & spam days later as Dina advised & only reconciliation was told was sent. Sad
Hi Dina, you say 5K in revenue but that's not profit. So subtracting your listing fees and ad fees and considering the time and effort of uploading plus customer care, not to mention the time it takes to create the digital product itself, Is it really profitable as a stand alone revenue stream? Or is it merely a profitable niche to make content about to upload to your RU-vid channel where you can add affiliate links and make actual profit that way? absolutely not meaning any shade, I'm just curious about the overall business plan so that I can have a better idea of what to do myself.
You're correct that it's not profit. It's revenue that I'm stating. As a standalone revenue stream, it could be profitable, but it depends on a lot of factors, like how much time you spend on it, the niche you pick. For me it's definitely not a full-time income, but also I haven't spent as much time as I would have wanted to. And I also don't like the idea of relying on an online marketplace like Etsy to be my full-time income, it's very risky, so that's why I don't spend that much time on it and invest my time on other things like my RU-vid channel. If you're wanting to sell digital products, there are other ways to sell that are not etsy. I have a video called "before you start an Etsy shop, consider these alternatives" that you might find helpful! Thanks for watching and supporting!
Dina thank you so much! What if I upload my own elements (I have a pro account), could the customer with free account see and edit them in the template?
If you upload your own elements (like photos), I don't think that's considered "pro" content. At least for photos. But I'm not sure about other elements, like fonts or graphics. If you use actual Pro elements, the customer can see it in Canva but when they go to publish it (as a PDF, website, PNG, JPEG, etc), they'll need to pay. To be safe, I'd make another Canva account (a free account) and test it out when you share the template link
hello i need help please, thanks to this video I just found out I was using the wrong links since the beginning, but when I tried to use one of my templates with my other Canva acc, it created a copy, so should I redo all my listings with the right links "template links" or it works also that way. In ly countrie the translation is xrong for "template links" on Canva website so that's why I did this mistake, it's so annoying ...
This video was so helpful! Thank you. I am still having an issue.Etsy purchasers seem to be able to edit my original files. Since they have access to change my template, this makes it unsellable to someone else. Please note: when I go to get the template link, I don’t click “copy link”, I select “template link” like shown in your video. What am I doing wrong?
If you're selecting "template link" that should be the right one. Have you tried opening that template link yourself using another Canva account / or on incognito and see if it works? Your customers shouldn't be able to edit the original copy.
Hi I did a template, and listed on etsy. My mistake was that I did it on presentation file (16:4) is this a problem? Is there a way to fix it? I know it can print ok, but wont fit to page perfectly
@@LorisAyoub you can definitely revise the product and relink it to your Etsy listing but I think maybe I'm not understanding the question correctly still?
It's a cleaning template in a presentation format (16:4) it can be printed but looks a bit smaller. It should have been a document I think. Thanks for replying.
Hi Thank you for the video, very useful. I am planning to start soon. I wonder if I upload a Digital product without any review in the beginning, Do someone tend to buy it? any recommendations pls? Because even it is a niche item, there are products on Etsy.
You may or may not get sales, it depends on a lot of factors like how much competition it is, how niche it is, how good your listing photos are, how good your product is etc etc. Good luck!
Hi! I am just wondering, if the customer already has the link and they tried to share it others, would it be accessible to them? I am planning to do this but I am hesitant about customers would share the link to others for free.
Of course they can share it, and that's something we can't control. And that's unfortunate. I do have a policy on my listing description saying something like this is for personal use only and you're not allowed to share it with others.
Thank you for this information! But what if all of my digital files are made with Canva Pro elements/graphics. As we all know canva has more to offer with Pro. How can I share the template link with my Canva Pro elements without having my customers to pay? 😖😫 *I am new at this .
Unfortunately, if you use Pro elements in your template, then the customer needs to pay the subscription or for the individual Pro elements. Yes, it sucks! For me, I just make all my templates using free elements, not Pro.
Hiii I have a question I’ve been really wanting to start selling digital invitations templates. I am in school for graphic designs. my question is what is your opinion on making designs or background on adobe illustrator then transferring it to Canva so it could be easier for them to edit?
Hi Dina, thank you so much for this video. I started my registration process on Etsy but I've been stuck at "How you'll get paid". Do you have any idea on how I can move past that or on why I'm stuck?
@@DinaLu thank you so much for your response. I already entered my bank information and it is saved already but I can't seem to continue to the next step. How do I go about connecting my bank details to my Etsy account?
When I click the link on my thank you PDF it opens up canva but all of my listing photos and description pages are all there. i feel like i'm skipping a step. should the template be the only page when I make the template link ..am I making sense
I actually didn't know about this until I saw your comment, and I just searched it up. So thanks! I can't comment on whether or not this will be good or bad for Etsy/new sellers/current sellers, but I do think the $15 fee is still pretty low cost for getting started on Etsy.
@@DinaLu You're welcome. Hopefully in the future you can be more careful. And also I need recommendations other than Etsy from those of you who don't spend money
Hello! I LOVE your videos. However I have a question, can you do a video on if we need a business license to start selling on Etsy in Canada? I was doing some research but quite find the answer I was looking for.
I'm not an accountant / lawyer, but I believe it depends if you want to stay a sole proprietor or you want to have a corporation. If you want to have a corporation, you definitely need to register the business. For sole proprietorship, it depends on several factors. I would speak to an accountant if possible! Small Business BC and other provinces' business centers also have great , free information.

Hi, I'm a new subscriber. I watched your other video you used two paper sizes (US letter and A4) in one template for one listing. How did you do it? hope you notice this. Thanks 😊😊
So when you want to give out two Canva templates in one listing, just add both the template links into the one PDF! For the design part, I just copy pasted from the letter size paper to the A4 paper, and just adjusted the spacing
Hi Dina. Hope you are doing amazing. I found out about Digital marketing a week ago. And I have gained enough knowledge there is to know through your videos. Thank you so much for giving all this information. Also, Please make a video on "etsy pricing strategy". I am confused about how to price our digital products ? Should we start with low pricing like $2 or $5 or is it okay if the pricing is $20? Thank you!
