I'd say there is no point in keeping terminated agreements with any 3-d party plugins/add-ons yourself. It should be clients ownership to have them, like it is with hosting i.e.

The title says how to sell web design services and sell clients worth 3000usd websites. I was expecting content like more details or example showcase of which business to approach and how to find those clients online or offline. What is the exact phrase to use during the call (script) Etc. I understand u might have those in other videos. But i was expecting more in depth content. Good luck for ur future videos. It would be very helpful for us if u could share those details. Most of the videos in youtube gives us only an outline how to get clients. If u can make a very brief video on where to search a client or how to search a client like directory or online etc. Kindly do this video if u can. Cheers

Yes, still able to get clients. A lot of businesses in the uk are still transitioning to take their businesses online. Whether it is offering takeaway, or selling clothing etc. A lot of businesses are still functioning as normal. Plus you have those who are starting their own businesses and want a professional website. What stage are you at in your web design journey. Are you ok based?

Hey Michael, I would say it is a 50/50 split. Slightly larger business are the ones who often have photography ready to supply, perhaps 75% of website clients need content writing for them.

You are able to contact, speak to and win clients all over remote methods, email, zoom/phone calls etc. COVID restrictions haven’t been a problem for acquiring new business. The type of business were able to acquire has changed a little. Eg, if gyms and restaurants have closed, maybe reach out to retail and e-commerce customers.

Is it possible to start a web design business for $0? I struggle to sell clients on using WordPress. They need to pay me $700-$2,500 - then they need to pay for hosting and domain costs. After all that they need to pay for any paid plugins I use to create the website and the business plan. Any lower cost solutions? Not having an English accent isn’t going to be a problem at all. If you speak the English language well then you can communicate with English speaking countries… this opens up your doors to more opportunity

Depends on the requirements. If their copy is fine and SEO optimised, I’ll copy paste it. Otherwise they have the option to supply their own copy or we can assign a copywriter to produce the content for an additional cost

You can do it on a sub domain or create it on your own hosting and transfer it when it’s finished

When you talk to the on the right way and ask strategic questions to get them to open up, it becomes a lot easier. Eg asking them what their revenue goal is, then asking them how far off that are they ? … you’ll often get a positive response from them.

Thank you, the thumbs down seems a little unnecessary. I’ve been a Wordpress developer for over 10 years. No code tools are here to stay, and as an agency owner, it’s way more efficient using elementor. Often the end result is what the customer cares about, not that you were able to ‘code’ the website. I’ve also been being Wordpress for over 10yrs. Using that page editor is a choice by the developer. More efficient on who? You because your to lazy to learn the correct way of building Wordpress.

I genuinely do value your opinion Adam, but I think you missed my point. I already know how to create custom Wordpress themes using PHP - I did it for years before swapping to no-code solutions, so I would argue that I am 'real' Wordpress developer. However, the turning point for me was when I realised that whether you choose to spend hours coding a website from scratch, or us a no code tool like Elementor (or even Webflow), your end product is ultimately going to end up the same. You see, the client only cares about the website, the purpose it serves and the value it brings to them. They really do not care about how it was built it. So why spend hours doing something that you could do in half the time, and get paid the same? Now I am not saying that the likes of Elementor is correct for every project, but for most cases its great. Plus I am confident that any business owner will tell you that it isn’t lazy to find faster ways of doing things, it's smart and profitable. You’d be surprised how many well established profitable agencies use Elementor too. This is of course just my opinion and everyone has different ways of doing things Thanks for the response :)

@@tristanparker This is a very fair defense. As a web developer for small businesses, we really have two main objectives. (1.) Give the client what they sought (i.e., make them happy) and (2.) Get paid fairly for providing our services. I'm all about the idea of being knowledgeable in one's craft in the truest sense, being down with the art-of-code or whatever we might call it, but I have to admit that custom only coding has at times bogged me down more than it's worth. The clients cannot tell the difference at all. I'm strongly considering moving to half custom method of providing website products. In my experience, WordPress didn't seem to really speed things up. But this is probably mostly because I only dabbled with it very little. If a client has some tech abilities and wants to try (
