I know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the password. I love any tips you can give me.
Hi I am an artist and I am looking to sell my art on Shopify an printify I want to creat a brand with my art can you help me with that and what is the price for that to start ??
Go for it. Only advice I can give you about it: you'll be disappointed for a few weeks until you catch up, but it's very pleasant when you get used to how digital art works (its differences from traditional art)
That’s sound amazing you can do it ! When you love the art you make you will find the right people to support😍 🌹🌹discourage It not a perfect journey but a working journey
"Just get started" is so true. Really the motion that you create by just taking that first step, "not wait"ing for affirmation, but just taking yourself seriously(that is self-love, by the way) and so... all around, take her advice people! Just do it!!!
"I'll do it when I'm good enough" This stupid idea took me years of my life for nothing ! >_< Didn't help me at all to get better, made me stay in a sort of comfort zone, so I didn't even draw what I really want to draw. Add to that no one recognize you or tells you that yes, now you are good enough and bam = big lack of self-comfidence and low self-esteem... Yay ! Be creative with that xD I'm trying to grow an audience for 5 years now, and for now I'm still failing... What a journey seriously.... *facepalm*
I can totally relate to you it soo hard though its been my dream to be able to sell and show my art to make art as a full time career but it is just soo frustrating and sad when you have low following and not only that no one commission me to the point i feel like my art isn't good enough and i need just stop for awhile continue when im good enough its been almost a year up until now I've been learnig anatomy and all but i still feel like my art isn't good enough yeah the result of all that is lack of confidence and self esteem i feel you but wishing you the best
Where do you post your art and what's your handle? Also should I really just start? What if I'm actually just not good enough yet. I've been drawing seriously for like a year and I can barely make something that's pretty good for a beginner. I wanna just have to confidence but I really don't think I'm good enough yet.
I’ve been stuck in that mindset for a couple of years. Still can’t tell if my art’s “good enough” to sell but I really want to just start and see where it takes me
My advice is try twitter to build your audience. And then partake in random fandoms with fan art and you’ll easily rack in some likes and followers! Include the right hashtags and boom you’re set. I’m just starting out recently on twitter and barely ever got likes until I started drawing fan art. That’s probably the easiest way to attract people haha and it def works!
Let me save you 9 minutes. Don’t do art with the intention to sell it. Create art because you love it. When people see your pieces made with passion they will always ask to buy them. Don’t create things because they will sell. It then becomes work and the passion is lost. Be true to yourself and your vision. Share it with the world on all platforms.
Easy to say when there are bills to pay. Ideally, yes but when you wake up stressed, east stressed , worked stressed, sleep stressed because of life expenses its difficult to be creative.
I'm hoping to be an independent author and my wife is working on being a fine artists. Just jumping in is so horribly daunting but honestly it's probably what we need to do
I still don't feel comfertable enough to show my art, but as a teen we made paintings om a camp and an actoress (Swedish) was there and she wanted to buy One of My paintings, but that one was for a friend, would have been cool to sell it to an acteress, but only hearing that make me confident is some way 😁 Or maybe she just was really nice.
I’ve been toying with the idea of selling my paintings (acrylic on canvas) on beanies and shirts and stuff. I’ve got to brand myself and figure out what the heck I’m doing. Thanks for all your wonderful help! Very inspiring!
I love to knit, crochet, sew, and just work with so many different ideas and garments. I love the work I do but just get so self conscious and almost put myself down about my creations. I look at every single mistake and think about how no one would ever buy it... even with all that, this video has me more intimidated and excited at the same time. I keep telling myself “we all start somewhere” and push myself through those tough thoughts. Idk kinda just sharing my experience as someone starting out lol
Her first step had it all !! 'just get started ' is all most of us needed here it actually motivates and though we already know it but this still felt like this idea got up just now in the head !
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I will add one for you: if you are sending smaller flat art pieces (like pen and ink) a super cheap way to back your art is go to the dollar store, and pick up some foam board. I cut it down with an exacto so I can usually get about 4 pieces per board, which costs a dollar, this can easily be slipped inside a clear bags, bag and is a very lightweight way to back art for shipping. I also generally paste a label on the back of the board, and put a business card in there as well. Also so I don't have to keep filling out the address, I had a custom stamp made with my address and logo, which I stamp on the outer packages. All the art aside... I spotted a KITTY! :)
Finally a video that is really mentioning specific pages. Specific information and is realistic and on point !!!! This is how I would help someone I really want to succeed!
Finally!!! I have watched video after video about how to print my artwork, cause I’m selling my originals.Ugh I want to keep those and sell prints. Your tutorial was and is the best out there it covers everything any artist needs to know, I was going to buy a 2000.00 dollars printer, make my own frames. You have saved me a ton of money,YOUR THE BEST.!!
oof the thing about waiting to be good enough hit home. I feel like I’m sort of good enough but I kept waiting for some kind of validation before I started selling my art lol. This convinced me to go ahead and try, thank you!
sometimes I wonder if anyone ever feels good enough. I know I don't, and I have sold quite a few. People just seeing my work (I have no online presence). One, a pencil drawing of 18x24, went for $1200. I was super excited about that. The other issue is when you just can't let go of your work. My sister, a brilliant artist, who is way more talented than I just couldn't part with anything. I bought one from her (a horse painting that I swear you felt you could reach out and pet), but she asked for it back! Her house is full of amazing art and is essentially an art museum.
Thank you! I needed this - I've started a website to sell my art and I am struggling with sales (they are very slow). I just need to be patient and keep working on it :)
Thank you for this info. Been making hats, hoodies, coffee cups and doing fluid art background with my printed work on top of it. It's not easy, but so satisfying.
Yo I've been working with digital art, since it was more popular than paper. It kind is awkward for me cause I always work with pencil and paper lol 😂 But Imma try all my best....Wish me luck 0_0
Thank you very much for the video...Many times I was close to giving up with online sales..The only reason I didn't is because of person to person sells..Its like if you see my art physically in person ,the more the want it...Honestly I haven't sold anything online 🙁But I won't give up and everyone who struggles like me shouldn't either. I have a dream of creating a Art Garden for Amateur Artist to display their work to the public by letting them walk through the grassy Art Garden for free .I believe beautiful Art should be Affordable for All to Enjoy.
Wow I just found your channel in the best moment! I completely identify with this validation issue from others but really want to try doing my shop with the skills I currently have, thanks for sharing your invaluable experiences I will for sure do a marathon of all the videos and of course see your art which looks so lovelyyy 💕✨🤩
I just want to sell my digital art that way people can do whatever they want with it! I feel like that’s something a lot of people don’t think of! Instead of me putting it on a shirt or clothing. It can be up to the buyer to do what they want with it once they have the file!
You're amazing. Thank you so much for making this video and for your time and effort in helping artists. I have SUCH bad imposter syndrome, so thank you for encouraging me to start selling my work now.
I have been an artist my whole life. Ever since COVID though I've been Improving my skills and preparing to become an established artist. I've sold 2 16 x 20 painted canvases so far. I am working on my 8th canvas so far I'll be doing a lot of painting & Photoshop merch soon. Hopefully next year I get to actually paint city murals that's one of my ultimate goals. Thank you for this video I liked and subscribed it helped me a lot
I have been in the "business" for a bit and I think I can honestly say that if a person followed your program, they can and most likely will be successful in selling their art. What most folks that I deal with lack in life is a program. Folks like to say things like "It's not a silver bullet but..." in other words they set themselves out to fail regardless of anything they claim to want to do. Your program is as good as any as long as folks follow it. Nice work! And, I haven't finished viewing because you asked for a comment and here it is. I am sure the your video gets even better as we go.
Hello! My biggest dream right now is to have my own store full of any type of objects I want to sell! I want to sell clothes, plushies, art pieces on a canvas, hats, gloves, shoes, and maybe even my own books! You just got me so motivated but I now this road is going to take a lot of work
Thank you for sharing your tips. It can be overwhelming when you're just getting started. I am going to make it easy to get things done while I create art for my art buyers. :)
I have a living room full of hand painted and poured art that everyone tells me I could sell, but doesn't buy when I ask them what their favorite picture is worth to them.
Cool - Just Found Your Channel, Looks like a lot of fun and informative videos on art/art business. I have been an artist for a looooooooonnnnnnng time and recently over the past few months have been moving onto RU-vid and exploring youtube as a potential platform for expanding my business model as an artist. Im definitely interested in understanding youtube as a platform for artists - Seems you have a few videos on this topic - will be digging in - Cheers.
My arts are still pencil drawings and not sure it will sell but I love art and I love to draw, I want to do it for my entire life. I want my art to speak to people as it speaks to me
So I went to school to be an artist, and that whole time they taught us art historty, beginnning level classes, and then your major medium of choice (video art, illustration, metals, etc). However at NO POINT was there a 'business art' class where they teach you how to set up your own website, get you business cards, talk about how to ship your art, or how to market yourself and actually you know...SELL. I graduated and like a naive baby bird was sort of like...okay so what now? lol. Heck, I'm still a naive baby bird just trying to figure it out.
I'm a beginner artist, also not a professional artist though. My lack of confidence make me stop from learning new things..so I'm just thankful for the guide you portray on the video helps me a lot to work hard more on my arts.
I hope you are in a different place now, a year later. But your comment about learning new things? I am nearly 60, and I am still learning new things. In the last couple of years, I have learned to paint many different types of paintings, many of which have sold. I learned how to finish my basement, and the electrician who came to install outlets tried to hire me for his! I also learned how to make furniture, and my kids' houses are now fully furnished with custom made for their spaces fireplace tv consoles with sliding barn doors, bar carts, end tables, coffee tables, entry tables, even outdoor benches, and all who see those want me to make them one. one must be creative when all you have is a drill, a miter saw and a level. I even wrote a book to get my kids to read when they were in their teenager years, and all of my friends loved the book (they keep asking me for a sequel). They are now avid readers, so mission accomplished! NEVER stop learning new things! Besides, it's pretty fun and you never know where you will find your next passion.
Great inspiration to start now! Selling online is something i hadn't considered very much, but definitely thinking of it now. Thanks for such a detailed breakdown of the whole process. I would love to sell my prints or drawings
I'm selling mostly original art and merch made from that art like key chains, stickers, bags and my comic books and prints. I did great at the Halloween store where I work, but it's only for a few months out of the year. I do conventions when I can as well. I seem to do better with live, in person stores.
Just subscribed Janet. Thanks so much for all the great advice! I work in ceramic clay and usually keep my projects small, but will go bigger for when I can either transport them myself or afford the shipping. 😊 Thanks again.💚
Clear, concise and VERY motivating. If you have read The $100 Startup and Side Hustle, this brings it all to life. Thank you for an excellent presentation.. and best wishes.
Last I brought my art to a speech I was hired to give at an elderly services of Tampa; I sold most of my art to the elders, vendors, family members of the audience
I have a niece who can't speak ... But she makes wonderful paintings with her hands with a pencil ... Whatever picture you give her, she makes it very beautifully ... Someone to help her with this business ...
What do you suggest for shipping acrylic paintings? I know they need to breathe and stay out of sunlight and heat but I'd bubble wrap the crap out of it if I could lol. But I know that may not be the best thing to do.
I lost my interest in arts a few months ago but now i just saw my mother and my father fighting because we dont have enough money for every day and now i want to sell my arts to help them not for my self but for them and my siblings…
I do animal portraiture. I'm proud of the work i do. I make keep sakes of people's pets. I've had sales but they are friends and family. I'd like to branch out buts its a struggle
stop thinking of reasons why it works or doesn't, just stop thinking and start doing. literally do anything but think; whether it's singing and drawing, music and drawing, doesn't matter. looks bad? still finish and post it. feeling bored? change your pace up, your giving out and interpreting the process wrong. you want to enjoy it? then stop thinking about it. stop. right now. like right now. go draw. stop reading this I'm telling you it's a sign just stop thinking and draw
I second that first sale comment. Especially with the economy as it is. I get lots of people asking about my price, then get scared off when they hear it. But in reality with my pricing I'm getting paid lesser than minimum wage lol.
