You are right, this was a game changer. As a gospel group we also lead congregation singing and switching from song 2 to say 50 was a lot of foot pressing on the old RC300, it would have been slightly better on the 600 as you can hold the pedal down now but your midi discovery is by far the best. I set it up today and went to our rehearsal for a weeks meetings starting next week and it was awesome! Every time I moved to the next song boom, there it was ready to play 2 to 50 in one swipe. So thank you for your efforts I really appreciate it and I’m glad I found your videos this week before I was stomping pedals all next week. Only thing that happened is I use Bluetooth to send the iPad audio from the iPad to the mixing desk, as soon as I click in the lightning cable for the midi I loose the audio. But the midi is much more useful and I went back to a cable for the audio. Maybe an iPad thing or onSong I’ll do some checking but thank you again this is brilliant.

@@RossGallagherMusic Yea, they were as far as your great midi advice the RC 600 not so much! I’m doing a week of playing and just be before it started I turned on the RC 600 and it said looper data damaged I had programmed it for a month and set all my midi program changes in onsong. I tried everything then I rolled back an update and it came back yea! I used it for the last few days then I went in to the venue last night turned it on and gone!! Same thing. I had to do the whole evening with an acoustic guitar instead of a band! I brought it home and nothing this time is working its basically a red brick. So I’ve emailed Inta Audio where I bought it to get a replacement its only been 3 months so hopefully they’ll play ball. I’m using my 300 for the last night tonight. So no midi back to stomping the pedal or bending down and turning the dial. Hopefully I’ll be back in the game soon cos I’ve a lot coming that depends on the 600 - well a working one anyway!

Thanks for your excellent series, Ross. As a newbie, using MIDI to control my 505mk2 and VL3 from iPad, your content looks very helpful. I'm using Stage Traxx 3, but betting the commands will generalize. And I'll check out SoundTank. I'm subbed, hitting the bell and Likes! Thank you very much.

Hi Ross, congratulations for the video, I follow you often because I also own a beautiful RC 600. My question is this: do you think it is possible to use the RC like the TC Helicon x3 by taking advantage of the possibility of inserting backing tracks and making sure that the effects are inserted automatically, as happens in the Tc? thanks in advance, Ric

I'm not entirely familiar with the TC Helicon, but it is certainly possible to import wav files and play backing tracks if that helps. Ross

Hy, Ross. Maybe can you help me with something. I have an rc600 and i want to sent midi comands to an app. A lirycs app(stagetraxx3, maybe you heard about it). Onsong 2023 is more exencive for me wright now. Thanks in advance. I didnt find anything about sending midi from rc 600 to anything..

Hey, yeah it's definitely possible to send MIDI commands from the RC-600. I have, in the past, set up assigns to change CC values in TouchOSC, via wireless MIDI, and then have TouchOSC select a different guitar tone on my Boss Katana amp. This meant that I could simultaneously record a track on the RC, and have the correct guitar tone selected without me having to physically do it. Anyway, I digress. If you go into your assigns and select the 'source' to whichever pedal you intend to use, and the 'target' to a CC value you want to set, this will ensure the CC value is triggered via MIDI. Then set up the same CC value on stagetraxx3, make sure they're on the same MIDI channel and it should hopefully work for you. Best of luck! Ross

Great video but does everyone use apple products? And any idea how struggling musicians would do this with android or PC? 👍
@RossGallagherMusic
@RossGallagherMusic 10 месяцев назад
There's a really good app called TouchOSC, which is also available on Android and PC. There is a charge for the Android version but you can download it for free on your PC and see if you like it. Check out my latest video, which is a brief demonstration on what it does, and how to control various features in the RC, using your hands. Hope this helps. Ross

Why is does this video title have wirelessly in the title?
@RossGallagherMusic
@RossGallagherMusic Год назад
Thought that might be a bit misleading. I guess it should just read wirelessly for the Sampletank part as that's over Bluetooth. Perhaps it needs rewording. Thanks for the feedback.

@@RossGallagherMusic Look at the "Widi", wireless Midi things. You can run your whole midi setup, but wirelessly .. well .. no midi wires. I was hunting endlessly on how to jump to the correct memory bank .. PROGRAM CHANGE 🤦‍♂.. of course. Great video, thnx for the tips!!

(Especially for people who are sensitive to energy) There are health benefits to NOT using iPads as MIDI controllers. (Bluetooth is worse for your body than the ordinary EMF from headphones on a phone or computer) +then just TOUCHNG the screen is unpleasant (for people who are more sensitive to energy.. it does not feel good) plus there's the blue-light toxicity from the screens entering your body through your eyes (+even the light receptors on your skin.) Furthermore (for the average joe who can't sense +/or just doesn't carea about the health effects) it's just easier to grab onto physical knobs during the middle of a music performance to make an adjustment.. so there are still many who prefer MIDI controllers with knobs +buttons +faders.. -but then the question is "HOW TO HOOK THEM UP?" (because the new MIDI controllers do not have 5-pin MiDI-out, but the RC600 does HAVE 5-PIN MIDI-IN.. +Strange that the RC600 does ALSO have a USB input but everyone who uses basic ("non-piano" style) usb MIDI controllers (like the Korg Nanokontrol) says that u have to also buy a "MIDI host"contraption to attach the MIDI controllerto the RC600 through the 5-pin "MIDI IN" adapter rather than the USB port. Btw IF U EVER HOOK UP SOMETHING LIKE A KORG NANOKONTROL TO THE RC600 WITH A MIDI HOST, THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT VIDEO -there are a lot of us who want to do that but still havn't figured out ALL THE DETAILS cuz apparently there is some programming that needs to be done on a Mac (at least with quality MIDI hosts [WHICH IS KNOWN NOT TO FAIL] like the Kenton MK3) as Roland devices have a setting option for "Advanced Driver" which must be turned off before using a Kenton MIDI host. -which may also be true for BOSS? (since it's the same company as Roland) It shouldn't be this complicated to be alive..
