Thank you so much for the video. You expain everything soo good and also you speak clear and in a perfect speed for me, because i don‘t speak very good english, Thank you 👍
Excellent video! Very concise and detailed explanation that far surpassed the ( do not mean to be mean) (un) useful idiot I got in the WU chat session. My god! Had a simple question or 2 and felt like banging my head against the wall. Your video explained it quite well, so thank you. I simply want to be able to send $$ to myself from my bank in the US so that I may pick up my own money while in another country, and this went completely over the head of the agent! What I DID learn from the agent is that if I send $1,000, I MUST pick up ALL of the $1,000. In other words, the money does not reside in an "account" from which I may pull at my discretion. Seems alien but I guess it is what it is. If I send $300, I must pick up exactly $300 - -no more, no less. Seems weird but apparently how it works! Tank you for a superb video, mate!
What if your driving license shows the old addresses where I used to live and you are putting your personal information where you live now... There it will be a problem since your driving license shows a different address? Appreciate your input 👌 Much blessings Ty
Yeah that's likely to effect ID verification because they'll want to match your personal info with your drivers license. If you update your drivers license address you'd likely get a new one in a couple of weeks. Issue is, can you wait that long? If not do you have any other form of ID? ^Jonny
I am the receiver and when I tried to track my transaction it says that it's on the way and all the formalities are fillfulled by the sender. Doesn't WU works on real time???
I checked our comparison engine (www.monito.com) and Western Union isn't on the list for US to Sri Lanka, but it is for the UK. This search was just for1000 USD www.monito.com/en/compare/transfer/gb/lk/gbp/lkr/1000 - and also they look like one of the best providers for that amount of money. But this may be different depending on how much you want to send. Jonny
Assalamualaikum..I use translate in commenting. I don't understand English and have difficulty understanding the video. I want to ask if I can send via Western Union to Afghanistan?
As-salamu alaikum.. Yes, you can send to Afghanistan with Western Union, check out www.monito.com (www.monito.com/en/compare/transfer/gb/af/gbp/afn/1000)
If you transfer to Iran, can you do it via Western Union? because Iran is full of conflict. If so, what bank can they withdraw money from? please reply
Hello, if you transfer money to yourself in Argentina using western union and pick up at the store. Is it possible to withdraw USD currency not in peso or you can only withdraw in peso?
No, WU will only allow you to send ARS so you'll have to collect it in pesos. You might be able to exchange it for USD at the Western Union agent location when you collect, although I wouldn't trust the FX rate to be very good. Where are you based? I might be able to suggest another way. ^Jonny
I'm American, and want to send myself a western union in argentina. what should I put as my reciever's country? argentina or usa since i am sending to myself in argentia? @@Monitodotcom
Hey! Just visit www.monito.com and make a comparison, you'll get a live result that way and you can do this directly by clicking this link: www.monito.com/en/compare/transfer/gb/id/gbp/idr/1000 Remember to change the transfer amount, and click the 'Cash' tab. Right now, Remitly looks like the best choice. ^Jonny
That's a good question, I believe it just needs to match with the details you have on your Western Union account, so your name address etc. Bank ID should be fine. ^Jonny
Hi. Thank you for this. Can I ask what if the money is in Philippine Peso bank account? In western union they only have USD rate. I would like to send it in CAD but the option is only in USD.
I respectfully disagree, the process is pretty straight-forward, the steps are quite simple, and don't necessarily have to be individualised. I'd recommend just giving it a shot, if you encounter any problems then drop me a comment and I'll try to help. ^Jonny
Thanks for a very useful video. Is this a good option if you go on vacation in eg. Oman or some other country, where you dont know the bank system? I think that you can transfer to yourself. Is the rate better than changing cash og drawing cash form ATM machines at the destination? Can you call back a transfer, if you wish to cancel?
You have to cancel the transaction it won’t let you pick up the money. It’s a scam so that they can refund your money except for the transfer fees. You will lose whatever you pay in transfer fees every time!! Just read about my experience in the comments 😢
You're welcome! Glad you found it useful. You could transfer to yourself and collect the cash, and it could be cheaper than withdrawing from an ATM but that'll depend on the card and provider you use to withdraw the money. Which country are you from? ^Jonny
Excellent video mate; I've given up with PP, I've been chasing my tail for over a week, it won't let me top up from my local debit account- I'm an old duffer so I've had smart young realatives helping out and they are baffled too. I'm in the Philippines and 4 hours from my bank branch and I'm trying to send regular small payments to my UK Halifax current account to pay my Capital One credit card. I'm unable to make international transfers using local online banking, or credit card to credit card - I think it's a Philippines thing. So I'd like to give WU online a shot - the local WU office say thay can't transfer to a foreign account. Assuming I set up a WU account will the system allow me to send money to a UK account in my own name?
Unfortunately for Pakistan you would need to send the money from USD to PKR. Unless they have a USD bank account? Are you trying to send the money for cash pick-up? Or bank transfer? ^J
I have one question and I would be grateful if someone could answer me. When I receive the money via western union , the sender asked me to send him a scanned copy of my passport. Is this necessary for him to send me the money,as I am afraid of being scammed? Thanks in advance
@Monitodotcom Thank you for your response. I looked everywhere and nowhere does it say that the person who sending the money needs recipient passport, especially not a scanned copy in color. It is only necessary that the data from my ID match the information and address he provided when sending.
I downloaded the application to send money to Mexico, but why do they pay me the cheapest dollar here? The dollar is today at 17.14 and in the app they are going to pay me at 16.84, why is that happening?
Hey Annie, replied to your other comment so just copying this one over. Thank you. Hey Annie, I imagine they've added an FX mark-up to the exchange rate, I definitely recommend checking www.monito.com and just putting in your transfer details. We'll be able to recommend the best provider, including the best exchange rate for your transfer. It's also free to use :) Thank you. ^Jonny
What do the receiver needs in Mexico to get the money? I sent it but they're saying they need a number and then the exact amount, how did it work for you?
My friend from Kuwait send me money via Western union to my wise bank account and I'm from Germany, it's been 3 days already and i still haven't received the payment but when I'm tracking the transfer it shows delivered. Please help me.
That could be normal, 3 days is a bit long but it might be held up in the banking system. Hopefully by the time you read this the money has arrived safely, let me know. ^Jonny
Hello ! Did you recieve the money ? Im thinking of sending money over western union the comments are making me doubt it. Let me know if its safe or not
I will send money newzealand to india but i can't do this when i called western helpline number they told me that first you have to go western agent then send money by agent i did do this i have MTCN number after i am trying send money online by western union app but i face da problem show me last we couldn't verify your driving licence so I don't know anything please tell me what can i do now??
Assalamualaikum brother.. i am from India... My friend wanted to send me the dollars from Canada to India to my bank account... Is it possible through western union... Kindly drop a reply...
Wa-Alaikum-Salaam. Yes that is possible but I would recommend your friend checks www.monito.com as there may be a better option for CAD to INR. This link will show you 1000 CAD to INR but they can adjust. www.monito.com/en/compare/transfer/ca/in/cad/inr/1000 Thanks! ^Jonny
Why is there no place to enter the recievers passport identification number? Sending to Egypt and they must have the passport number to pick up the money
I’m sending it from USA. I’ve sent the transfer 2 different times entering every detail possible! They wouldn’t let my recipient pick up the money either time. He showed them his passport and everything matched but they asked him to see my identity so I sent him a photo of my drivers license and they still wouldn’t let him pick up the money. So in result I had to cancel both transactions and they sent a refund to my account but only for the amount that I sent. So I lost the transfer fees. It cost me $6 two different times to actually accomplish nothing. The second time I was actually at an agency and the agent helped me do everything from my phone through the app and told me everything was correct and he could pick up the money without any problems. So I recommend no one use this app ever! Unless you want to get charged transfer fees for them doing absolutely nothing!!
To confirm, the Western Union agent asked to see your ID? Do you know the address of this agent as that's not necessary. According to Western Union's own website (wucare.westernunion.com/s/article/What-do-I-need-to-pick-up-my-money-transfer?language=en_US) they only need to provide your full name and possibly your country and state. What reason did they give for refusing to let him pick the money up? ^Jonny
That might be because of your destination and how much you're sending. The steps can be slightly different. Did you manage to send the money in the end? ^Jonny
Sorry you found it useless, what were you searching for? Are you looking for how to send money to yourself? You can do that with Western Union, just input your details as the receiver. Thanks. ^Jonny
So you don’t answer any questions in the comments? You only respond to the people that compliment you on your video? 🤣🤣You won’t get many followers operating your business this way! Good luck with that. Silly!!!
I completed all steps and got MTCN on my email but here Western Union shared their company account to deposit the money. It is safe? Means they will send money from their account to receiver😢 I can't transfer directly?? Please reply
