Very useful video, i actually just bought one of them used, and works good, but i am going to service it. Can i use just car oil in it like the one you are using in this video!?Also how much oil do you think you put in, looks like no more then a litter ?
I got the same lawn mower, But I know nothing about it. Though I go to start it and it starts right up, But it seems like it ain't getting enough power? Do you think it's the spark plug or something? Take notice I bought this lawn mower off someone who said they fix them. Idk what they did, What was fixed or what wasn't lol. I am thinking it could be the spark plug but it just started doing this. and I've owned it for 2 weeks now.
My father mower is just like yours. But I can't get to run. All parts cleaned but no luck. Brand new Carburetor Kit, Gas Tank, Filter, Spark Plug, Gas & Oil replaced. Starts & dies in 16 to 22 seconds. A second brand new Carburetor Gaskets Kit installed. But same problem. What your suggestions?
Wayne Earls, do you know how to check & test a coil with DVM? Other said they think I might need a valve adjustment, but I don't know the specs for those gaps. My dad said it ran fine three weeks ago & then got this problem.
+angelisone I'm pretty sure it's not a valve. You can pull the spark plug out and plug it onto the wire, then hold the plug up to a bolt on the engine block using insulated pliers while gently pulling the starter/(turning the flywheel). You should see a spark. If you don't, it's a dead coil. And it's a common problem. You should be able to find a video on testing a coil. I'll probably make one sometime. Hopefully you understand my directions. If not just let new know, I'll try to explain better
I debated with myself over the spelling on this. So I went to google, and it appears the correct spelling has a space. 2 words. Thanks for watching! Check out my more interesting videos!
Tried changing my oil on this type of mower today. When I took out the drain plug the oil wouldn't pour out unless I tipped the mower forward. Even then it sort of dripped out and stuck to the inside of the mower. Dipstick says it is full. Any suggestions? Can I just remove the cap and turn the mower on its side, that might be easier?
Let it run for a few minutes to get the oil warmed up enough to flow better. If the oil level is low...add more oil to top it off. Run it a little while longer and everything will flow a lot easier. It's better to spend a little on oil than a lot on engine repairs.
Did I not say not all plugs are the same size, and who ever said he has the same mower? There simply isn’t enough information given to know the size of the spark plug he has, also I don’t have that exact same lawn mower
