Great video. Thanks for making it. I bought some rapid rivets and found they can be easily snapped together and unsnapped by hand. I've never used them before. Should I be using a rivet tool to force the two halves together? ie. Do the parts expand and tighten under the pressure of the right tools?
+jublywubly Thank you for watching! The Rivet tool fits over the dome of the rivet, allowing it to secure when struck with a mallet while retaining the shape of the rivet head.
I am having big problems trying to use rivets for my leather work. The post keeps coming through the top of my rivets when I try to set them? If I try a smaller post the rivet does not set? Any advice where I am going wrong
Does anyone know where to buy rivets that have flat, to low rounded, stone, or synthetic stone on them? Not crystals and bling type. Black onyx, mother of pearl type..... looks like the buttons you see on Western clothing, but a rivet. Can't find them anywhere, not even Tandy.
Hi I just tried thisthe rivet didn't set properlyI used a thick plastic cutting board to hemmer onthe rivets from Tandy and so is the punchI've tried each about 3 times each but every time the rivet is loose and the back is not flat but turned down and not flatwhats wrong ?
+Vrinda Bhalla Hello! It sounds like perhaps the rivets are too long for the leather you are using. Can you give us some more information on what sized rivet and what thickness of leather you are using?
