How to set a squirrel tube trap with and without the setting tongs 

I purchased this a while ago but now setting it up because the squirrels are tearing up my lawn and garden beds. The oak tree does not help so I plan on taking it down. Anyone know if there is any difference in setting this up vertically or horizontally?

This video is far more helpful than the one produced by WCS. I can actually see how to dog is set to the pan in this video (no hands blocking the view). Thanks!
