This is a very basic method for setting toe-in on a Tri Five or any vehicle to get you in the ballpark to drive the vehicle to a frame and alignment shop for a correct alignment. In the case of this '55 Chevy, the steering linkage had been removed and a temporary steering bar was needed to be able to roll the car, lock the front wheels together instead of acting independently. I will check for desired toe-in, measure the distance from steering knuckles or steering arms and build a temporary steering bar. This will allow the car to roll and turn while keeping the front wheels locked together and tracking correctly.
