I tried this, my Samsung s23 does not have a ringtone option when I go to contacts, edit and view more

You have to add the contact to your Samsung account (import it) then click on the contact than click on the 3 dots on the right and the change ringtone option should be there (Samsung A53)

I had this feature set up but was having trouble connecting, so I had to factory reset phone now the feature isn't available now after reset. I've move all contacts to samsung account did change anything.
