In this video, Adam teaches you how to set the club the right way. Adam goes over the right angle technique where you create an 'L" with your arm and club. By doing this, you create a leverage swing that will have a downward blow on the golf ball, leading to compression.

Porzak for Nobel Prize in Golf Instructions. He simplifies the golf swing, and continuallly encouraged this students, and the classes show the effectiveness with a student, not with a pro. I spent 1 year , 1 lesson per week, of lessons with a local PGA , and found myself confused , hit fat shots, and the handicap never changed or even was worse. A good teacher is not so much about how far he hits , but how well he can simplify the swing methodology and presents a model that a student can execute, long after the lessons.

One of the things I love about your teaching methods are the little visual nuggets you use in your explanations. For example, I wasn't processing the technique to "set the club," but it all crystalized when you said "pushing a beach ball below the level of the water and using downward pressure with the lead hand." Bingo, I instantly got it. That was the nugget I needed. Thank you!

I see stack & tilt concepts in Porzak's videos. For example a principle S&T idea is "weight forward, hands low". Weight forward is the hip bump . Hands low is as seen in this youtube. Seems like S&T is becoming more mainstream, just not being billed as such and slightly modified.

Not Stack and Tilt at all. Adam sets into his right leg on the backswing, S&T does not.
@mtmmason

Except hands low isn’t a thing in s&t and hands in serves a different function. The only thing I see in common is the lack of a recentering move. I don’t see Porzak advocate stacking, hands in, arms straight or hips tucked.

I notice your lead wrist angle is cupped on the iron. How important is that wrist angle in all of the clubs, driver included? I notice if I cup that wrist , I open the face and cause a fade or slice with driver and long irons. Interested in your comments on this!

@@PorzakGolf it was a drill from another site where I placed all my weight on the lead side to hit balls. Trying to fix a backswing sway and lack of shift through the ball. Made me feel what it’s like to pivot in the backswing and get through the ball. However, I think I’m over cooking because now I found myself steep in the downswing. I think I lost width with the pivot sensation…work in progress!

Most all your videos and learn so much. However by trying not to take hands too far inside, I tend to push them outside my toe line. Would this be a cause of less turn and thus hitting pulls as a result of being outside to start?
@Longarmshortarm
@Longarmshortarm Год назад
I’m not Porzak, but it’s possible that you pushing the hands outside could be a SYMPTOM of less turn, not a cause. It’s worth checking that you’re still turning and loading into your trail hip during the takeaway, if you’re only turning your torso and your hips are staying still, that will cause your hand path to lose its relationship with the body. Watch adam’s takeaway demos in this vid, he’s loading and turning into his trail hip during the takeaway.

Subscribed. I really like your instruction methods ! FEEDBACK : Student is wonderful but I think his swing path is too zeroed. This often leads to army golf days as the timing has to be spot on. This also gets you the aggravation of good days and bad days - due to being 'off' just a little. Guy was already starting to pull left. If you pause at 3:30 MIN mark you will see a steep swing and too close to the ball. This can lead to early extension disease. Keeps students coming back ... Maybe we're all better off with the cushion of 5-10 degrees in to out swing path. Nicklaus won 18 majors by eliminating one side of the fairway. He could trust getting his swing path down and consistent better than others. Same with Hogan. Physics - the plane of the swing is better when offset - mass is forced outward.
