How to set the Squelch settings in HDSDR when listening to VHF and UHF signals

*HELP!* The only thing I could hear on my hdsdr are a couple of local FM radio stations in my country. I want to use it to monitor VHF and UHF frequencies. Is it my dongle or have I forgotten to do something?! Hope you can help me. Thanks.
