How To Set Up a Controller For Euro Truck Simulator 2

I really didn't fancy having a go at this SIM using keyboard constantly. However, with this I will definitely download this game and give it a go. Thumbs up and thank you for sharing how you do it; I assure you, I wouldn't be able to figure out how best to do this without using the game with keyboard controls for some time first. Your trigger accelerating when not being pressed was not because you need a deadzone, it's because you have it inverted. That means the input is full acceleration when you're not touching the trigger, and no acceleration when it's fully compressed. You need to change that to normal instead of inverted.

Just got euro truck sim 2 today and was wondering how to change shift, very helpful. Now I can use my top 2 triggers as gear shift up and down.

Loving using wireless controller finally as the keyboard was a brutal(no analog), choppy, steering experience. Thx again for taking the time to post this.

Looks like he's using an x360 controller. Google for x360ce, it will allow you to use virtually any controller to emulate an x360 controller with whatever mappings you like. I use this for all sorts of games and it works great :)

Xbox360 controller users= SEE The CHROME CONTROLLERS ... they released the last year of the 360 lifecycle and are amazing.. the D-pad is much improved and it just responds better.. the biggest perk is they are awesome looking without too much BS clutering up the beauty.. *I got the Purple and Red but would love to collect all of em, but kinda expensive hobby for something not needed.. ive seen the Blue,,Black,Gold,, the black is like a metallic grey or smoke,, ~haven't seen green or others but they are at the used game store/game exchange for $15 bucks.

The worst thing about gamepad controls in this game is the look sesitivity, its like driving with a neck brace, if you could only increase look sensitivity, it still feels a lot better to steer with the controller but looking about is a pain in the ass with the right analogue

yeah, there is. you can buy a receiver for the xbox 360 wireless controller. or use a pc w/ bluetooth with ps3 controller and program called "Motion in joy"

can anyone help me out every time I open ets2 with the controller plugged in it doesn't let me use the mouse or controller until I unplug the controller so I cant move to adjust the settings

You did acceleration and braking wrong, you might want do make an annotation in video. They balance each other, after you have assigned both RT and LT. If the controller is not broken, they should have about same dead zone configuration. Cheers!
