I've been running G Ads for a few years. I have two solid yrs of data, with conversions (contact form submissions) and also imported conversions (I have 50, going back to Jan 2022). Can *Performance Max* learn from the _historical data like Impressions/clicks/conversions? I'm pretty sure "smart bidding" like _Maximize Conversions_ does not look into the past, ignores the history and spends a week or two throwing mud at the wall to see what sticks, in "learning" mode. Thank you. I think your videos are the best ones on Google Ads I've seen. I'm up at 8am watching all your vids.
Hello! First, thank you for being such a great resource in both Meta and now Google advertising. Really appreciated. I have a small business and am a hobbyist online advertiser. No great expert but dabble. Been running a perfectly decent Search Ad on Google for years. Could a Performance Max campaign supersede that Search campaign or is it designed to always run alongside a search campaign? Thanks!
Thanks a lot and great question. I would start by running it alongside if you want to test. Most of the time, we'll keep the original search campaign going if it's delivering results.
Thanks for the good content. I am about to start PMax campaign(s) for an early stage brand at around AUD$50 pd. It's for a physical product that has two main use cases: i) bought when people move home, including kw 'moving'; ii) people who will be putting items in storage, using kw 'storage'. Potentially, the copy could be hyper customised to these two scenarios. Then there are generic search terms where it could be either scenario. Do you think different adsets should be used with PMax or just bundle it all together and let the algo do it's thing? Thanks so much.
Good question. I do think it's still better to break out stuff so that you can make things more specific. You'll likely see better CTRs and better conversion rates.

I got a 100% optimization score but the problem is I have received theis message- Misconfigured (Performance Max campaign requirements) and this Eligible (Misconfigured) info .Your campaign is running with limited performance Add remarketing lists with active users to improve your performance and coverage. I have already done everything in your vid. So from what I can figure out I might not have enough cookies because this is my first ads with them. Do I need to switch to just a sales ad first to gather more cookies or am I completely wrong lol? I would appreciate any help you could give!!
Happy to hear that. So Google is recommending that you add remarketing lists, but you may not have any at this point if you are just getting started. That's ok and doesn't mean you should change anything. Not all the recommendations are good ones and I don't think that is one you need to pay attention to at this point.
They use government data for zipcodes, counties or towns. It's based on local averages, not individual income of a specific searcher (like yourself). I would advise against optimizing a campaign for this factor, as it is very vague.
