@Sunnybrooks Hi! this was was extremely helpful. I don't have an ancestor altar however I've been guided to by one glass cup the other day. Currently I'm at the beach and found one white feather. To be honest believe I low key have an altar because My mother recently transitioned (9/2020) and I have the plant she gave me, one of her white candles, a picture of her sitting together. Wow.. and recently I believe I've been hearing my mother want food. If anyone knows her they know she was a foodie! Lol awesome information 💚💚💚 BTW, I was guided to speak to my ancestors on my dad side who I don't know because I don't have a relationship with My dad. Again your video gave me encouragement knowing that I'm on the right track.

I put together my ancestor alter today in my window I added a mirror bc someone told me that it would keep uninvited spirits away thank you for your videos
@@zakeyaedison4002 no it didn't work out they did not like the windowsill I moved them to the top of the shelf and it's been great since then I removed the mirror
This has been helpful for me. Thank you. Can you do a video on what to do with offerings after you use them on the alter. Like how long would you keep food on the alter and how you would dispose of it. I have heard different things. I’m thinking maybe it’s how you are led, but would like to know your thoughts
just a couple questions. when/ how often are you meant to set up an altar for your ancestors? how do i find my ancestors? do i have to have two altars? (one for me and one for them) Thank you
@@zanzibarjones896 do you have a tip on how to communicate with them if you have no possibility to know who and from where they are and if you are still not that psychic /intuitive, or dream that often? It got a little better over time, but it's still not that far. I often have a slight feeling that they are here and I made a candle for them and have a fresh glass of water, but I would like to give them self made incense cones or cookies or something, somehow that idea suddenly came up almost like an urge but I don't know if that's me or them. Could that be them trying to tell me that they like that(is that a thing?) ? Or can I use a pendulum?

Great Video! Should the candle always be lit while your home. I normally make an offering , sit and talk then snuff it out. But I’ve been seeing that people just leave the lit even when they are not at their altar
So glad i've found your video. I've been called to finally set up my personal ancestor altar. However, I live with my parents and don't have much space in my room and I worry that a family member would tamper with my altar. Should I just go ahead and create the altar in my room anyways?
Hey there I have quite a few questions. I really want to know how I find out who my ancestors are? How do I honor them? How do I ask them to guide me? I currently have an alter that I meditate at however I want to build a connection to my ancestors. It may sound odd but I feel them but I don’t know who “they” are and I want to honor them in the best way that I can. Please help
Thank you for the information. My question is this, I read that you don't want to set up your alter in your bedroom, my bed room was my first choice because no one comes into my bedroom usually. Is it ok to set it up in my bedroom. Oh, my apartment is such that I would want to keep my alter private, so is it ok in my bedroom?
I did that to my uncle whom passed and we didn’t like each other. I would honor my ancestors and say except for him. I even cussed him out one time in my prayer. Well a few days ago as I was burning ancestor money, I was urged to burn a note for him and to forgive him. I cried and also ask him for forgiveness.
i think it depends. if you just didn't like each other it is different than if they abused you. eventhough they might have changed/grown in death so i would try to find that out. but in the end do what is good for you!

I believe you can, also jewelry and items of clothing. They will tell you what to use or if you guess, you'll usually find out if you made the correct choice. 🖤
Is it okay to have an ancestor alter dedicated to more than 1 ancestor at a time? Ex: my grandma and her mother in law [my great grandma] or should I keep it consistent with both of their pictures or alternate?

hi sunny I was wondering if I can take my ancestor altar down on the day the lady that comes to clean the house comes because she's not into anything magical and touches my stuff and acts weird when she sees sage or anything in my room. (I live with my parents)
and then put it back up after she leaves... I just don't feel comfortable with my personal stuff around her (because like I said she touches our stuff and her vibe changes)
Can you get a cabinet that opens and closes? Just close it and tie the doors shut when she's around. Or something similar like a box you can leave open, but close when she's around?
I don't know anyone past my real grandmother on my moms side. Hers is the only picture I have. But i was wanting to set up an altar and i was asked what kind of altar. Never knew there were all different kinds, but i want one I can come to for prayer, meditation, to gain clarity, connect with my ancestors and get guidance. But how can I put what they like when I do not know who they are? I did an ancestry DNA kit but it just narrowed down my nationality
