@@VivavivavivaPalestina you shouldn’t rinse filters under tap water. clean them using the dirty water you take out of your tank when you do a water change. that way you’re keeping the beneficial bacteria and not introducing any harmful chemicals that some tap water has (that’s also why you shouldn’t put untreated tap water in your tank)

Alot of the time, fish store water is great to add if these are your first fish. It reduces stress as it stabilizes the water parameters

If ur get fish ur water should already be stable adding fish to tank that has only just been set up is only asking for an ammonia spike and if ur pet shops are like mine most of their fish aren’t the best health which is why it’s a safer why to discard the old water most of the time pet shop put stress coat in the bags adding that to the tank isn’t going to go down well with older fish and the bacteria within the tank but if a different way works for u definitely stick with it

Fish should be bagged in fresh water bagging fish in tank water is a bad practice good shops use fresh water not water from the tank

Hyped Ore For some species it is helpful for a blue light to sleep, especially salt water fish, but I completely agree, I leave my light on 4 hours a day because the only plants I have are marimo moss balls and then I just turn it off, apart from feeding times.

@@janayahuffman9990 1: Needed equipment: *a 20 gallon (long better than tall) *a 150 watt heater *a 30 gallon filter * a bubbler *airline tubing * airstones * a glass lid *a plant light (You can just buy a hood with a light if you wish to do so) *buy Prime (water conditioner) *aquarium fertilizer *a test kit/strips *decorations *plants *substrate *pure cleaning ammonia * fish food 2 Find somewhere to put your tank (an actuall wodden dresser would work best). 3 Put your substrate in the aquarium. 4 Add water. Use Prime in the water so its safe for your aquarium. 5 Add you decorations and/or plants any way you want. 6 Put in your 150 watt heater, 30 gallon filter, and bubbler. Follow the instructions in the boxes to make sure you add the equipment right. 7 Put your glass lid/hood on the tank. I would cover all opening with tinfoil to prevent animals from escaping. 8 Add aquarium fertilizer (and prime if you havent already) following the dosing instructuons very carefully. 9 Add one cup of pure ammonia to the tank. (DO NOT IF YOU HAVE FISH). 10 Test your water daily with your test kit/strips. You will notice ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates spiking over time. This is called cycling. It should take only a month. 11 When ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate have spiked and have gone down to 0 (or 20ppm for nitrate) do a water change. Keep testing for a few days after and if no spikes have occoured, its safe for fish! Some fish/inverts for a 20 gallon: (Dont put them all together and do research on any fish you might want) *male guppies 6 *female guppies 6 *male endlers 10 *female endlers 10 *cory catfish 8 *honey or dwarf gourami 1-2 *zebra danios 10 *neocaridina shrimp (id start with 10 but they'll breed) *mystery snails 1 *nerite snails 3 *betta 1 Plants in a 20 gallon: *Amazon sword *Tiger lotous *Dwarf lily *java moss *anubias *java fern *bucephalandra *aponogeten *banana plant *staurogyn repens *dwarf saggiteria

In my opinion there one of the best products in the freshwater side behind fluval but fluval expensive but worth it. Cause they make filters build in the back to hide hears and return pump and when you look at you’re aquarium there almost noting in the background that why fluval aquarium are the best then tetra. and also there food products is the best

@JulianNguyen do research on the kind of fish you have because most prefer the lights to be turned off. In nature, there is no 24/7 light that shines on them.

@@GotoHere maybe if you have a setting to dim the light like moonlight then you can leave it on. I don't recommend leaving a light that's too bright cause it does get darker at night and they wouldn't know that.

@@GotoHere It's the same for humans. Our brain knows it's nighttime by how bright our surroundings are. That's what people say not to look at your phone before you sleep cause the blue light stops our brain from getting tired and knowing what time it is.

You may had a larg tank or a hardy fish ..bacteria prevent the accumulation of amonia which can kill your fish.

@@crocopix Why would you have to worry about amonia in a new set up, especially if you're only adding a few fish. A question, not a challenge, I'm wondering?

@@soulveiw I am not an expert by any means, but amonia will build up quickly especially if you have small tank or large fishes. So it's maybe fine for the first few days but eventually it will cause a problem.

Nah most of the stuff is Overkill. I got a 15 gallon with around 20 species of plants. Fifth month in with just a light, pump, heater, plant substrate snad fish and plants. All doing well

Clownfish are marine, not tropical. The need a lot of care and the right environment in their tank, I'm not professional but they need lots of coral and places to hide like sea anemone, fish like seahorses, tang fish (pretty much all you see in Finding Nemo) are marine, fish like angelfish, guppies, mollies and tetras are tropical. So, are you up for looking after such experienced tasks like these fish? :) Been donig my research as I'm getting a tank hopefully soon.

fluval have a variety of filters which might suit you

The smell is probably ammonia poisoning, this isn't a great guide especially for goldfish since they are dirty and need a lot of room because they get so big, it can take months for it to clear up to. Sometimes it's a good thing to start over. Lol 😆 they missed some key things in the video.
