If you have a usb socket on the back of your TV you can use that to power the Chromecast.

Hi, why in the latest version have they switched to a mains power adaptor? Didn't the previous models simply charge via the TV USB? This is better in my opinion. Or, do we still have the option to do this?

i did all of that, my device didnt pop up. the chromecast is connected to wifi but it wont connect to chromecast in projector. its connected but it doesnt pop on my phone apps to cast screen. do u have any suggestions?

I cannot set mine up. At the 2 minute mark on your video, the code that comes up on my phone does not come up on the TV. Yes I'm switched to the right HDMI input. What could I be doing wrong?

@@jaredmitchell341 I found that I have to turn on the Chromecast first, ( so I put it on a separate power supply, switchable multibox) and wait 30 seconds.... When the chromecast is powered up, and has a white LED light, then power the TV or screen up, from the mains. (Not from standby). So basically, it's that the TV wont recognise the HDMI input, unless you power up that input device before you power up the TV. I hope this works for you.

@@kellygwdobbs I got it to work. It was a tussle for an hour and with multiple facotory resets ....it didn't recognise my wifi but alas it worked. I can enjoy my TV. Hadn't been working for weeks. Thanks for the advice man. I plugged in externally and then put it back in the tv.

Why does it come with a WiFi dongle and Chromecast device. Should the device be plug and play and have WiFi built in and powered by the TV I don't get why it needs a wall socket output to lol

It finds the chrome cast but when I hit yes it disconnects my phone from the wifi and says chrome cast couldn't be found it disconnects my phone from the wifi when I try to connect my chrome cast too my phone and then the app just restarts me back to the main screen

Most cell phones can cast to your tv without google Chromecast. If you can watch on your phone you can cast to your smart TV.

Doesn't work on 1st generation dongle. They keep updating phone crap, and render the dongle useless. God! Why couldn't they leave it alone! Samsung destroyed the chromecast app when they incorporated it into the home app. Bloody nightmare. I'll now have to get another updated version of the thing. More waste. Had 8 good years of use from it, but too whatever for S10 phone.
