As an assistant with multiple clients, I feel this SO HARD. It's infuriating.

I'm sure you've seen it by now, but the roll-out can take a few hours (for anyone else looking at this)

My name is Dolly and I'll be working with you today. While I read over your message, is there anything else you'd like to add? Me: I am trying to give someone their own log in info (separate from my own ) to access and send mail on my behalf! Google: On the Admin Console, please go to Security > Basic Settings Google: then, please go to Allow less secure apps And select the Enforcement option (the third), then Save the change Me: ok done. Is that safe? Google: Yes, it is. Is just that you need to grant access to another account to yours. The default security settings would not allow you to do that, so it is necessary to lower the security a bit. You also need to lower it if you want to set up your account in Outlook, for example. Me: Ok what should I do now?? Google: Let's give it a couple of minutes for this update to propagate to the individual accounts. ME: ok sounds good! @@koreyshaffer What if you or the person that wants to give you delegation access to their gmail inbox are not G Suite users? I am a virtual assistant. I have a Gmail account and so does the person I will be supporting. The person I am supporting has a basic Gmail account (not a G Suite or business account). When the person tries to add me as a delegate, at the last step where they enter in my email address, it does not allow them to add me. What could be the issue?

Yeah, you need to use Google Workspace services or just gmail default mails

Yes Keith is right and if you look up "Turn on/off email delegation you" in google will find a tutorial on how to do it in your Admin Console
