So helpful. I’m thinking about using scaffolding to use when I strip and paint my exterior siding but have never seen anyone set one up. Thank you for your excellent video.
Thank you so much. I'll be 61 next week and I put it together myself just like you did. Except I have an older version. I still have to put the plywood up on top I think it's supposed to be three-quarter inch? Anyway it's only going to be 92 today and I have some paint to scrape off the house so I better get to it. Thanks for your help. First time's a charm! Thanks again.
I am in the process of putting up six sections today. Hang a section on the outside on extended walk boards, then lift it up to the next extended walk board. Just move slowly.
Good video. Never gripe about sunny and warm weather ;) We're working in 18" of snow and -25 C (-13F) up here in Canada. Can't wait for the temps to go back up to the 80's and 90's. Everything is iced up...but hey who's complaining. We're on the right side of the ground and fighting the good fight! Cheers.
Nice video, but I was interested in the process of how ONE GUY would set up multiply tiers high. Never set up scaffolding B4 and was wondering if it is hard to lift all those pieces alone, once it gets 3 or 4 sections up.
Never exceed 3 to 1 height to width ratio. Usually for 5' x 5' frames, that means a height of 15' or 3 frames. If you go 4 frames or higher, the scaffolding must be braced by being attached to the structure or building.
I assume you couldn't just link the three ends with cross braces to form two linked sections, because you made your own planks and they wouldn't fit because of the interference?
That would be a yes...until I saw the home-made plank, I was wondering why he didn't just join the 3rd frame to the first two . And without the notches, if you make your own plank, have a 12 inch overhang on each end .
Have you ever set up scaffolding on uneven concrete where the foot didn't sit flat on the concrete? I thought about getting some swivel feet jacks but for some reason the idea of swivel feet makes me feel less secure about things haha. Wonder if you ever use them and how you like them.
Why not put x brace on after u get screw legs in first jack then it will lean on ground. Bring other screw legs and jack over put legs in jack stand it up and bam connect them. That way you ain’t handling shit multiple times.
