Hello Everyone! Thanks for watching! This video shows how to configure Vectric V-Carve Desktop (and V-Carve Pro) post-processor to use your VFD spindle. It is a follow-on video to the VFD configuration series.
We will show how to install the CNC machine, select and modify a post-processor for use, and introduce a delay into the start of tool paths when you execute your g-code job on your sender of choice.

Thanks for this one Tom. Do you have any advice on how to connect the wires from the controller to the VFD to turn the spindle on and off with UGS software?

The videos I have for setting up the spindle show the correct wiring, and should be universal. You will also have to set up your CAD/CAM software post-processor, and depending on the sender you use, you may have to turn on the option. For UGS, Select Machine-->Setup New Machine and follow the prompts. At the spindle settings step, select automatic. It is important to note that will also have to set minimum and maximum speed on the CNC controller so that UGS knows what bottom and top speeds are. You can also test to make sure that UGS will turn the machine on manually by opening the console, and typing S[SPEED YOU WANT]M3. For example, if you want to run at 18000RPM, it would be S18000M3. This should turn the spindle on manually, and ramp it up to 18000RPM. To stop the spindle, type M5. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
