Before your next craft fair, you should have a gameplan already in place for how you're going to set up your booth well before the event begins. In this video, I'll show you tips and tricks for figuring out how to design a craft fair booth that makes the most sense, depending on the event. What a great list; I would add that vendors should abide by the organizer's time for setup. I have seen vendors show up to set up 1hr before. Organizers usually rent the space and have things they must do before vendors arrive. Love the channel; thanks for doing this.

Knowing the location beforehand is key… I learned this the hard way once by being on the long end of a turn blocked by a sidewall from the booth next to me… so the feng shui of people turning before my booth was not fun😂 And also No WiFi service was working so that was fun… live and learn! 🖤👍🏼 I would have never thought to ask about cell service at a highschool parking lot!

Trying to get a little better with each video - the channel is still pretty new with my oldest video being 4.5 months old. I want to pack more tips in! I have a BIG video on the horizon later this summer. I bet those high school kids don’t appreciate not having cell service! Back when I was in school, the teachers used to make us “show our work when doing math cause we won’t always have a calculator in our pocket.” Little did they know, we have EVERYTHING on our little calculator-sized devices 😂 it’s tricky being at shows now with no Wi-Fi or cell service!

Yes....let's make it known wheel chair accessibility access should be considered in set-up. Cant tell you how many times my husband who is wheelchair bound is unable to get into booths to view products. Vendors need to know this population has purchasing power too!

All great advice, I am getting ready to do my first show ever, thankfully not until November, but I have been following and watching all the videos trying to be prepared! I will have a super odd size booth, (6x12) so really trying to figure out my layout as soon a possible.

Yeah that’s definitely a tricky booth size but hopefully you come up with a booth configuration that works with those dimensions. It might take an interesting combination of smaller tables, racks, and displays. Thanks for watching the videos and following the channel!! 😃👍

Great, great tips!! Thanks for sharing. My biggest issue is where to hang my banner. I’ve tried it out front of the table and when someone stands at my booth they cover it up. I’ve also hung it up at the back of my tent when doing outdoor shows which works great. I have a photo backdrop stand that I’ve tried to hang my banner from when I’m doing indoor shows. Not great and seems a bit heavy for the photo backdrop stand. Would love an entire episode on just signage. ❤ Thanks again for the great info you share.

For a craft fair that is indoor, would you recommend or discourage the use of a pop-up canopy to help define space and provide the structure for side walls? I really want to define the space, but I am concerned that the pop up will reduce light from inside the facility and the booth will be dark, even if I add some lighting to the inside.

Great question. I would try it first with a back wall and see how it feels. If the canopy is white, this generally helps with lighting compared to a darker canopy which might be an issue indoors. I would go ahead and put some lighting up inside the canopy either way. If you can do it where it’s up on the inside of the top of the canopy, that can look good. Overall, I actually like canopies at indoor events and think it helps yo make a booth stand out. You’ve got the right mindset with it, making sure to ask the “what ifs” from the shopper’s perspective. Nice work! 👍😃

@@howtocraftfair Thank you for the input. The canopy that I have is white, so I think I will try this as you have suggested. Do you have any recomendations for making solid walls that I can place between the legs of the canopy and secure them? I am looking for a better way to display wall art that I make with a laser engraver. This way, I can display the wall art in a way that it is hanging like it would in a home.

@@howtocraftfair well my business is only about 4 months old. I just have one flavor but working on more. I try to make up for that with different size treats. I also try different kinds of packaging. I am also going to add paw balm, calming spray and maybe treat jars. I know I need height but what do you think about the kind of set up and displays?

@@Becky3392 setup will vary depending on your needs. Right now, without a large product line, it seems like you don’t need a ton of space or displays. So I’d recommend just really leaning into the theme. Do things dog owners would find cute or charming. For instance, if you want to display something on the table and don’t need height, put a group of items people can pick through in a silver doggie dish. Do that instead of a typical wicker basket. Also your pricing signs and tags - make them into the shape of a bone/treat. Really embrace the doggo theme while still maintaining the flow & look of a craft fair booth.
