First time streamers be sure to tweak your output settings (resolution, bitrate, etc.) so you have a stable stream with no dropped frames. OBS has a huge community of helpful people with lots of tutorials to make sure your viewers get to see and hear the best of your performance.
@@magikgee3066 little bit of trial and error. first I'd say check your upload speed and set the bitrate to about half that. 30 fps 720p is fine, 1080p60 would be the top end if you have the bandwidth. 320 kbps for audio. Constant Bitrate is best, and overall you're trying to get 0 dropped frames with as good visual quality as your equipment can handle.
I'll dig into it! My question is how do you set up audio where you can speak into a mic without it picking up the music from your monitors? I know you can directly stream the music from mixer to computer, but when you speak into the mic, wouldn't it create an echo effect on the listener's side (hearing music pumped from mixer and then background music from monitors as you're talking)? Thx!
Simple ...he plays beats u don't dig.. I never cared for him... But I know a couple people that met him personally and from what they say he's a good dude
Thank you for the awesome advice! I just have a quick alternate software-recommendation: I used to use OBS, it's a really great piece of software for streaming, however, I recently tried Streamlabs' version (Streamlabs OBS) which has more features and, for me, it is a lot more user friendly. You can even multi-stream to various platforms and there's a remote app! Thanks for the awesome content as always Luke! 🙌🏽
When possible, use a hardline from your laptop to your router and the internet. It is much more stable and faster than depending on wifi from your cpu to your router.
Thanks Luke !. I was going to try this last week only to find out that neither of my 2 laptops had a line-in. So ive brought a USB soundcard that does, which arrived yesterday. So will have a play with this over the weekend. Im going to use my 4k action cam as the webcam.
With the shortage of soundcards etc, Mac users and denon x1800 can use the software loopback to get the sound directly from your mixer usb 1 or 2 straight into the computer, then route channel line 9 and 10 with the software loopback into channel 1 and 2. Because obs only picks up channel 1 and 2.. only problem the software is expensive. But you can try it out for free. For 20 minutes per set.
I live stream for a radio show I ran some time ago but since the pandemic, I am able to run 3 online radios shows (2 live streams). I've slowing added some features along the way. I run 2 HD webcams and l on my laptop. I addies disco type lights but they don't last throughout the show so I may get one that does. I sue a mic with a desk mic stand. The important thing is to use a separate desktop/laptop for DJing and live stream (if you using a controller w/DJ software). Good video.
After three years of studying you with I’m my mind and live events....my alter Ego is you hahahahha figures student will be like the master. Sufu Luke thank you for 3 awesome years and counting
First, thank you for existing!!! Music and DJing would not be the same without someone like you! Second, thank you for this. I am a DJ but not the most techy guy. BUt I want to stream. Wondering if you are running monitors for performing or mixing through your headphones? If monitors, did you run out of your IRig or out of your board? Please keep being you! Maybe a video of your kung fu moves??
Do I necessarily need an audio interface or can a iRig stream be enough to stream with an instrment? How do I then monitor the sound? And also be able to speak to the audience?
Great videos! love your content. I have a full size goxlr mixer, couple laptops, stream deck and xlr mic. What would be a good dj controller to pair with my system that wont break the bank and i can learn on? Thank You!
You don't even need a soundcard to stream. If you go check out Crossfader's channel (huge shoutout to them), they have a video specifically for Rekordbox users on how to stream with just software! Go check it out! Although I must reiterate it only works with Rekordbox!
Great vid! Some questions still.. What about copyrights on the diverse platforms. I heard streams getting muted about this. Also.. whats that usb hub in the? And does it too result in a more tight cable fit?
Can you explain how you connect your phone to the OBS Desktop application if your phone is already connected to the iRig ? I've heard the iRig doesn't work with multiport adapter and has to be plugged directly into the iPhone..
Hi Luke. I hope your keeping well. Thank you for this video I did learn everything i wanted to know. I've always wanted to live stream but I had no clue what to do.. so thank you. One question. Will this all still work on a Chromebook.?
I've been streaming my mixes live for a few weeks now and I continue to get copyright notices on Instagram and Facebook concerning the music I'm playing. How do I avoid those?
Colby Lindsay hi, I was watching a video by The DJ Clevelandterry_. Search you tube. On his tips and ways to connect OBS to IG, via an online Tolle Yellow, something (he speaks of it) Anyway. His tip for not getting copywriter shut down was. Don’t play top 40 or new hit artist songs, like A post Malone. Etc. if your EDM, he mentioned to mix your songs fast, like only parts of songs. He knows it’s not how DJs or fans like to do it. But it’s will help so the copywrite algorithms don’t spot you and shit you down. So mix short, fast switch ups.
You can’t.... been streaming for 3 years on Facebook... it’s a battle! Moved my DJ steam to Mixcloud on Monday .... done 18 hours of DJ streaming ... no takedowns
Brilliant explanation look forward to streaming soon, I went for the rode attachment but il get a iris this week, respect to fellow DJs #denondjs the future is befor your eyes
Hi. I tried to do that recently and it does not work. So called "what you hear" from soundcard is not streamed. I have a simple DDJ400 controller. Controller is connected to PC and from PC sound goes to speakers so I can hear the music. Then I have RCA to TRRS cable that connects Master out from DDJ400 to mobile phone. And this is streamed along with video from the phone's camera
Hi , Mr Laidback Luke, I’m in San Antonio Texas, can you teach me how to Dj? I was broadcasting on RU-vid,, Facebook Live & Twitch, hope to Dj with you when you can to visit your wife, I didn’t know you got married here, this video very interesting, I broad with different programs, of course I use mostly media for my camera and also RU-vid and Facebook always claimed for copyrighted music
What's going on it's been awhile sense I've made a comment so I've been watching everybody else is stream everybody stream differently visually it's pretty much it's the most important thing so in my scenario. hopefully in the next couple weeks I'm buying a second laptop to take the handle of the streaming side while I use the other laptop to DJ with iRig is always seem to be the most popular one to stream with has anybody about any other sound card to Stream with . And lastly since I'm an Android User I'm upgrading a phone as well to a 5G phone with better phone camera capabilities that's why I haven't been streaming as much
Phone microphones are terrible! You should never use one for live streaming. Instead, you really want to run your audio signal from your DJ standalone/controller, directly to your streaming device (phone, tablet, pc, etc). You can accomplish this with a sound card (external audio interface, iRig, etc). The most intuitive is an iRig: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9DloqUF6oJo.html
I used to think the same Trust me I've met him he's not what he shows on youtube like nice sweet guy surely a wonderful and super talented dj and producer no doubt about it.. I've also met few bigger djs than him i wouldn't name them but like they are definitely massive djs and producer even more famous and successful than luke who are just so down to earth and super friendly but not this guy he's got lil attitude problem... again not trying to bad mouth him or anything i have alot of respect for him for his works.. but as a person i don't know, humble is not the word i would use lol
@@AdornationMusic unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to meet him personally, I wish I had since he inspired me a lot with his videos when I started djing years ago. I believe he is very talented and creative DJ and I respect and admire him for his work in the same way I do with other great DJs like him. I find his educational videos very straight forward and easy to understand. Man! you are so lucky for knowing some of all these fantastic DJs out there, I envy you in a good way of course ;)
@@DJALB haha i understand 😅 it's not like i know them personally or anything but a little meet and greet and small chat on their gigs yeah.. it's like i ask them or security to allow me backstage and looking at my passion in my eyes they never say no to me them artists can see the love and respect for them or it could be that i get lucky but yeah i love music so so much man it's a rush i can't explain.. soon m starting my own channel where I'll do live mixing of some great music out there maybe a producer one day hopefully.. good luck to you too man 👍👍👍 maybe someday I'll come to your gig requesting security to let me meet you 😀
For any new streamers getting into things, please understand that you might not get as many viewers as you think you will when just starting out no matter if its DJing or playing a game for an audience overtime the numbers will grow as long as you show them that you are working hard on maintaining that online presence for them cause if you aren't serious about it then people watching wont take your channel as serious as well so keep in mind I've been streaming for 3 years and i average 10 viewers to 15 a day and even though I wish it could be higher It took a lot of dedication and perseverance to keep my mind focused on having fun and streaming for the small amount of people who come by rather than being discouraged by streaming a whole year and averaging 2 or 3 viewers per stream remember those 2 or 3 people with be the back bone for your success in getting that bigger audience so never quit and dont be discouraged it takes quite some time to get to a comfortable spot yall. Thanks for reading your homie Taidus
Thank you again Luke and Mixmash Records!! I’m still so happy to be one of the 4 winners🙏🏻 and congratulations to Aya!! Hope you’ll have a lot of fun with the Denon Prime Go☺️
Thanks Mixmash Records and Laidback Luke for this wonderful experience and for the the generous prize which has made the quarantine more bearable, I can't wait to play some grooves on the Denon Prime Go. Regarding today's topic for those who are using Windows and Android, I am using for connecting the Android phone as a webcam to the PC a software called Iriun Webcam, it works great only with the Wi Fi connection (no cables needed) and it supports up to 4k resolution, the software is basically free, they add a small logo on the right corner of the screen and if you want to remove the logo it will cost you around 5 Euro, the rest of the setup is the same, OBS for streaming and a external sound card for capturing the sound from my Denon DJ Prime 4
@@loxindnb I don't know if this will work with OBS, It sends the video signal via IP like a surveillance camera not as a webcam connected to your computer, anyway i will try it in the afternoon
@@djaya.official You can use the Browser source within OBS to use IP cameras. It works fine but the connection will probably be less stable compared to a connection through USB. That said, streaming in 4k is obviously not feasible for most people either.
I am curious as to why you chose to use the iRig Stream when the x1800, and assuming the x1850 have fairly robust interfaces with a standard USB cable. I always like to keep my signal chain as clean as possible. I generally use the USB interface out of the x1800 mixer to record and stream my sets, this way I am keeping the signal in the digital domain all the way to the audience. Other Pros include less cables, reduced RFI in the analog domain, and fewer places you need to mess with the gain throughout the signal chain. Great video!
@swaggy_rich @hardcoregaminghdtv use twitch for streaming. Only twitch doesn’t take the stream down due to copyright. Instagram and youtube will take your livestream down
Something that most of these vods forget about is how to setup light. COnnecting a webcam and OBS software is all good but if you don't have good light then the stream will just be dark.
Great video! I love how this one was truly about something we all could relate, really simple stuff yet creative (all the cheap lighting and moving Your tv ,etc.)!!!
Raise a support case with Denon. It its still in warranty they will fix it for you. Or, you can buy the buttons from Denon and swap them over. The MCX8000 , MC7000 and SC5000 all have the same button pack.. Its just the plastic button you need.
