I understand the need to remove loads but what do you do if there’s 30+ downlights & a cooker hood or other appliance is plugged into a socket that you can’t access to unplug?
Thank you for this video But when test between IR dround and neutral In TNC system on TNC-S sytem or TNS system This allrady both conecte togther How get hight inslation between earth and neutral
Gary was demonstrating the setup and testing for insulation resistance of installed conductors. It wasn't a test for mains supply. Politely, I believe this upload is very much ahead of yourself.
I am fascinated by why "megohms" is considered correct. "Mega" is the SI prefix, "ohms" is the SI unit, so it's surely "megaohms". I can (sort of) understand that it's sometimes pronounced "megohms", but why is it _incorrect_ to say "megaohms"?
Not wrong. Mega = 1x10^6 = 1,000,000 of anything in the millions. Dropping the leading vowel 'a' to form Megohm is a derived North Americanism. Similar to referencing an oscilloscope as simply a scope. Both are understood to be correct. Just that saying scope is less cumbersome and quicker to say.
