oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this!! I didn't realize Pixieset has the print option until a friend of mine was asking how she could do it and digging around brought me to your video! Your video brought a lot of clarity and I'm super thankful!!

Great tutorial Noah, the perfect speed and pleasant voice, no loud "background music" where I struggle to hear the speaker. I'm a new Pixiset user so this is very helpful. I already use Millers Lab with a gallery app called Photoday, for high volume school and sport theme photos. I will check out part 2. Good deal on the Scripture Art, , Ted in Sebastian, Fl.

I recommend that you keep the mindset of making the most amount of profit on your work. Remember your talent has to get paid and your equipment and your time also has to get paid. Remember it's not their image that you're selling, it's your work that they are buying.

This is great! Thank you. I have a question. If photographing school portraits where the parents have already prepaid for their child's portrait. How can I then create a package (since they've prepaid) which will allow them to choose the following: 1 8x10, 2 5x7 and 8 wallets. So all the parents would need to do is pick their photos and the store front will ship it to the lab for printing and dropship directly to them? I am trying to wrap my head around how I would pay the lap separately but I would like to use pixiset to deliver. Thanks!
@njnelson
@njnelson 3 месяца назад
Hi there! I think the way you could accomplish this is to provide them with a gift card in the exact amount needed to pay for those exact prints (the package price). You can make packages within the store that include the 8x10, 5x7 and wallet. I'm working on this exact video right now!
@CharlieCooper2008

From my understanding pixieset take 15% for the free subscription. You have to take into account charges for payment processing like PayPal. If you use the base price list you could end up owing money after charges are taken so it is important you check what your revenue will be prior to using the base figures. A markup or price adjustment may be essential. I'm not sure but markup is bulk price increase but you can change individual prices on the price input box.

Definitely an interesting way to think about it. Yeah I'm honestly not exactly sure how that would work. If it's something you're concerned about I'm sure Pixieset's support could answer any questions you might have about that specifically. Thanks for watching!

HI Charlie, right now I use a gallery called "Photoday" for high volume/school sport theme photos with Millers Lab. Clients log in to Photoday, view the gallery, order prints/products and pay all on a mobile device. Millers ships to the client. So here is where your question is valid, this whole process costs me 12%. Phototoday, Millers and Stripe take a cut. But I don't do anything but photographic stuff. Photoday doesn't charge a monthly fee for storage or membership. I'm new to Pixieset so will try free for a bit to see how it goes. I like it so far, very professional looking, will use both probably,
@CharlieCooper2008
@CharlieCooper2008 3 года назад
Hi Ted, yes it sounds similar except photoday's cheaper 12%. I use Loxley lab who take a cut to produce and ship the photos. However, I discovered a free website as well as just the shop feature I can use in pixieset and a future release of a client booking and invoicing feature coming soon. Not sure if this will be a subscription or free.

Thanks for all the info! Those are labs I'll have to check out! I haven't been looking for another sight mainly cause of how happy I've been with Pixieset but it's good to hear that there are other good options out there! Thank you for both your inputs!

Hey, what do you do regarding the print size? Uploading for web would be different for print.. what do you do with your exports to cater to this? Thanks
@njnelson
@njnelson Год назад
Great question! I deliver full resolution images to all my clients so when exporting in Lighroom I export at full resolution, full size. That way any prints that they order will be coming from the full res file.

This was SO helpful! Could you make a video on how you actually get your clients to use your store instead of just downloading and printing on their own at some cheap place? Maybe show your emails with clients who have used your shop / explain what you say throughout your experience with your client / if its on your pricing sheet / etc!

Don’t give them a print release with the digital download. In your photography contract state that you will be the only method for acquiring prints.

Hey thanks for This video. just a question I have, if you watermark your photos when people downloads them does it automatically remove the watermark? Thank you
@njnelson
@njnelson 2 года назад
If you added the watermark on Pixieset then yes I believe the watermark will be removed when they download it. Although in the settings you might be able to set if you want the watermark to be removed or not.

@paytonvanvors

what is the purpose of having multiple pricing sheets? I see you have different sheets for each fulfillment option - how are these different?
@njnelson
@njnelson 3 года назад
Great question! One reason is that a few years ago those prices sheets were in there by default and so I haven't bothered to delete them yet. The difference would be that if someone ordered a print it would be going to that specific company. Now Pixieset supports automatic fulfillment so Pixieset figures out which company to send it to for the best results.

@@njnelson wonderful - and each of the labs color correction requirements/settings are the same?
@njnelson
@njnelson 3 года назад
I believe so! If I remember correctly they actually give you the option if you want the lab to color correct or not. I'll link you to a help section about this. I've been amazed at how open Pixieset is about basically anything on their site!

You can set it so there is no minimum actually. So they could buy just one item and be all good.

@michaelfrymus
@michaelfrymus 3 года назад
They cant ship the prints/products to me, and only directly to the client? What does the markup mean?
@njnelson
@njnelson 3 года назад
That's correct unless you end up ordering the prints yourself. The markup would be the amount of $ you make an each print sale. So if it's a $10 print for example, mark up is $5, the client pays $15, 10 of that goes to the printing lab (or pixieset) and you collect the $5 markup.
@isonny2010
@isonny2010 3 года назад
Whqt this video did not explain well is the mark up, pixieset designed such a simplified wwy to show how much you can earn from each print but leaving out the processing cost of the transaction, Say you selling a 12x18 print for $70 (markup 300%) the print cost of $17.25 and your Pixifi is taking $7.50 (15%) and the processor takes about 2,9% so that's $1.50). Your COGS is really $17.25 print + $7.50 Pixifi + $1.50 processing = $26.25 So all these costs you around 38% from one print

I really HATE it when they jump over things!!!! After getting the price sheet done he says, "I jump over to my collection," and he clicks in the corner and his collection magically appears!!!! Except I see no where over there that brings up any collections!!!!! You watch the whole damn thing and none of it helps without that piece of information!!!!
