Mother Nature gets the credit for that one. We just try and simulate it the best we can.

What about the substrate and impaction for lizards ?

Nick, 99% of the time, impaction is caused from poor husbandry.....Remember, even though they have been in captivity for years they are still WILD animals, and with that, their bodies are designed to take in things that they really should not eat - As long as they are healthy and not immuno compromised you should have zero issues.
