Jordan is the best on the Internet talking about this. Most other videos are so convoluted that I can't make heads or tails of them. Jordan's clear, calm delivery is a breath of fresh air. Thank you, sir!
Before I really knew what I was doing when it came to mixer boards, I always related "GAIN" to volume, but later realized its actually "Signal" and not volume. Explains alot when your trying to fix feedback lol ;)
Jordan!!! Thank you!! This is an amazing video and super easy to understand! I show this video to beginners looking to learn how to setup events. I went and bought the same audio mixer since you did such an amazing job explaining everything! Thank you!
Thank you so much after following your instructions how to connect my iPhone to mg10xu to speakers....now I got beautiful musics sound and louder I want too .
Thanks for this very informative video! I have a question. We just purchased a Yamaha MG16XU for my church. The mixer will be in the back room and we want to connect our stereo digital piano from the front of the room into the mixer (about 25-30 feet). What would be the best way to do that?
Great video especially for a newbie mixer user. How would I play music through a single monitor but still hear the music through my wired earbuds? In other words both working at the same time.
Hi great video. What about the volume gain on the powered speaker? Do we turn up all the way and then subtract a quarter as you did on the main volume like on your mixer? And on a wireless. Mic set up, what if the wireless mic has a volume gain? What is the recommended level to be used? Thanks again, 😊👋
Hi! I have a video request. How to connect two mixers together. I really need to know this ive watched other youtubers but they didnt really explain it well and there isnt anyone that helped me in sound as much as you! Thanks
Can the USB direct from the mixer to the laptop both record and send audio to the mixer to play through the speakers hooked up to the board? We are using the XR18 Behringer
Thank you for your great videos. I have a pioneer controller, a Mackie Line Mixer and a BBE Compressor/Maximiser. What would be the best setup for my DJ gigs? The output is to powered speakers. Thanks again
Why do you want to set all your EQ's at zero as a starting point? We usually use all our setting where we set them in rehearsal so we have starting point. Is that wrong? What happens if you do, or if you don't? If you have a 7 or 9 band EQ on your mixer board what happens if you don't have it straight across? My group wants me to leave the EQ band like a V in order to take out the middle while boosting the bass and a little highs and then adjust the individual vocal's EQ setting as we go from place to place. This is a Quartet that sings Southern Gospel, do you have any suggestion of what we might be doing right/wrong? Our bass singing wants more bass support in his voice. We have the support in the music.
Thanks for all these videos. They've been very helpful to me. Any idea what would cause static in JBL powered speakers? Even with no XLR or any sound cables hooked up, they have static. Fairly new. Bought about 6 months ago and have only used them once before. Switching to different outlets doesn't help either.
Very informative video. I've a question, please answer me. Which is better digital mixer or analog mixer for home recording setup? And also mentioned the make and model of the same. I'm looking for budget mixer. Waiting for your reply....
question: So if I want to play stereo backing tracks from my phone to my speaker I need an XLR going from mixer into the speaker, and then a 1/8 to double 1/4 inch jacks going into the left and right main outs of the mixer. And I have an aux converter for my phone. Is that all I need?
Is there a list of instruments that this unit can handle to record to the computer daw? for example an electronic drum on 1st and 2nd inputs, a guitar on the 3rd, a bass on the 4th and a keyboard on one of the line in inputs.
Hi I enjoyed your video and learned a lot I have active speakers you say make sure the switch is on line and not mic but when I put the switch on on line it won’t work only works on mic there LD Speakers can you give me advice what a brilliant presentation Thank you Regards Pat
Hi. I want to ask, is it not a problem if the power supply for the condenser microphone is turned on and devices that do not need power are also connected? for example, as you show, you have a dynamic microphone and capacitors. does it matter if it dynamically receives power?
It doesn't matter. You can mix dynamic and condenser without issue. Any device not needing phantom power will ignore it. With that said, if you're experiencing a buzz in the audio, try turning phantom off. If it goes away, you might have a mic that is not handling power as intended (typically happens with cheap mics).
I have an iPhone 11 Pro that I am using to LIVE events to help out grand parents on FB see the events they cannot attend at school... I bought a Behringer XENYX 802 USB outlet with 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer and a lighting adopter with USB and power... What am I not doing because we hear each other fine talking in the mics and in the headsets, but when LIVE all the viewers hear is the internal mic on the iPhone... That was the reason I bought that mixer is 2 mics and usb... Will it still pick up the mics on FB live or do I need to by a different connector...
Wanting to add several mics to a Karaoke machine. Can I use a mixer to do so (without a computer?) Wanting to connect 3 vocals, guitar, bass & keyboard. Wanting this to be portable, so we can busk. If anyone has any recommendations, let me know. Thanks.
Jordan, I need assistance to setup the following to record for online spin class. I have the following equipment: 8 channel mixer, Tascam 2x2 interface, iphone 12 pro max, Macbook Air, Canon t8i, monitor speakers.
I'm using my Mackie ProFX10 Mixer with an EV ZLX-G2 powered "smart" speaker which also has its own new DSP feature, with a Master Volume knob. Trying to see how I can make sure that section is disabled and just use my Mixer, and reason I am using a mixer. That new EV speaker can be used with a mic and Gtr directly plugged into that speaker, so no need for a mixer, but I prefer using a mixer. This is the FIRST TIME I'm using this speaker. Any thoughts by anyone? Guess I can turn on the speaker and see where and how the master volume setting appears, and then just turn it down far enough that it's off. Thanks.....good video.
Plug all your inputs into the mixer, then take a mic cable from the mixer output to the speaker mic input. Make sure your mixer output is set to mic level, if it is switchable.
Hi there. Just finished watching the video on setting up a small mixer for corporate style events. I have a usb Warfdale(connect 802)mixer which I don’t seem to be able to get a stereo input using stereo jack in inputs 1 and 2. I end up having to pull the jack halfway out (which I assume sends the same mono signal left and right). If the lack is pushed all the way in the volume is very low and mono (panned to one side). Am I missing something?
So I have a question which I can’t seem to find anyone who can answer 🤷🏻 Can it be done or not. Can you use a floor monitor with a large diaphragm Condenser mic 🎙️ I don’t have powered speakers I have passive speakers with a powered mixer . I wanting to try it but not sure it would work. I have a separate peavy 31 band eq to use to ring out house sound , Would you need another to ring out monitors ? I know a little but not a lot Sound man by default
I have a question, my PA speakers has two inputs do I just connect my mixer to one of the imputes on each speaker let’s say Inpute A or do I have to connect wires on A and B on each speaker and then to the mixer?
am using this coin yamahaMG10 for outdoor worship but there is a bit of an obstacle to the sound of the priest who is using the shure beta 53 system on the collar. We set the gain button to 1 the main volume is about 1/4 but it howls constantly, can you answer and plow for us thank you
16:15 I read the manual for Yamaha MG10 and it says that the phantom power will power all channels from 1 to 4, so what if I have a dynamic mic on channel 1 and condenser mic on channel 2 and phantom power on, does it somehow damage my dynamic mic? Thanks
If you want to look it up further, you can look into the difference between a balanced and unbalanced dynamic mic. A balanced dynamic microphone is not affected by phantom power. An unbalanced dynamic microphone will be affected although not likely to be damaged. Ribbon microphones are definitely at risk of damage from phantom power. Any dynamic mic that gets damaged from phantom power would be a real unicorn, it's generally not a concern.
The speakers are different, but you can see how to do it in this video: kettnercreative.com/audio-mixer/how-to-setup-yorkville-paraline-psa1-psa2s-sound-system/
@@kettnercreative Thank you very much for showing me how to hook up a Subwoofer to top power speaker my top are two Harbinger V2315 Power speakers what setting would your recommend I set on my top speakers the Subwoofer are Harbinger V2318s it has some setting also on the Back
@@kettnercreative Thanks for The answer back! I have a question! I have a PA system 2monitor and 2 main speaker! My main speaker feedback back really bad! I did a lot of troubleshooting but If i turned down and then I don’t have a good sound! ! I main speaker is away from microphone at least 6 feet away Do you think that my main speaker is something wrong or do I need a maun speaker have a subs on it! Or do I need a better speaker can you please answer and help! This is Dan!
@@kimtulong3864 It needs to be more than 6' away and pointing away from the microphone. If the microphone can hear the speaker, you will get feedback. Try a less sensitive microphone like a Shure SM58 and move your speaker farther away from it. Buying a different speaker or a sub won't fix this issue.
Do you start with both mixer and powered speaker set to unity? When it's too loud or too quiet which do you adjust? I'm looking at getting to Thump 15a's ... so that's 2600W of power which is good for DJing an outdoor event but too much for a small movie/projector night.
@@kettnercreative thank you, so my idea is to get a mixer to connect to my microphone, a speaker and a phone or a piano. To sing a long or sing karaoke. But i don't know exactly what to get. I have the speaker i have the microphone (senheiser e945) and my android phone 📱
Hey Jordan, I would like to ask some questions, how do I setup IEM on MG10XUF (this mixer act as my second mixer) while X Air 18 is my first mixer. And I want to make sure my click is not goin out to FOH. Please help, thanks! @Kettner Creative
