I purchased a different pump as the first one stopped working. This one had an attachment on the outlet that produced air bubbles. Unfortunately my pool has not gone up this year (weather is pants too).
I'm a 75 year old grandmother who planned to set this pool uo for my 4 and 6 yr old granddaughters. You were sooooo HELPFUL and I appreciate your step by step process. I can hardly wait to fill the pool and hear the laughter of my little ones. THANK YOU.
I used two of the suds tablets once a week. Made a video of what I use if you haven’t seen it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-okSdqamd1UQ.html.
Some pools come with the filter. Will enable you to keep the same water for longer as long as you use treatments. Pool will go green very quickly without the filter. I have just purchased a new filter and will be making a video on it soon.
Just a standard pump that can be picked up from Amazon or eBay. Gets most of it inflated, just finish off with the mouth. Mine runs off 12v and mains, but you can also get a battery one. Usually use it for air beds and starting off my paddle board.
Don’t necessarily need the filter. Will just have to keep cleaning it and use the chlorine tablets. Maybe empty a bit of water and top up. Wouldn’t say the quality of the filters were that great anyway. Mine died after a year and had to purchase a new one.
I own a Bestway Fast Set above ground pool. I cant get the filter to unscrew. It acts like it is locked. How can I unscrew the top cap to I can fash the filter?
It can sometimes be a bit tight. I put the pump between my feet and twist the top ring. Sometimes it’s worth unscrewing the top screw so the air is released. Could be causing a slight vacuum. Once you have the filter out and cleaned, remember to bleed the air out with the top screw. I forgot and now my pump is knackered. Hosepipe ban kicks in tomorrow, so water will be going to the plants☹️
It’s as level as it’s going to get🤣. Had to dig out a 30 degree concrete ramp to lay that patio. It’s almost perfect considering I later it myself with no building skills.
Mine came with a pump. I believe some come without, but are half the price. Pumps are available on places like Amazon for not much money. Mine broke so will be getting a new one next year.
I thought the pump that came with the box would help inflate the pool, but doesn’t seem to be the case, this makes me question what the function of pump is?
The pump that comes with the pool is for filtering the water. Cartridge will need regular cleaning. The top rim can be blown up by mouth or a small pump. Just remember to bleed the air out of the pump when first turned on. Forgot to do mine after cleaning once and blew the pump.
You can do. Make sure the water is at a level where it will go into the tubes before turning on. Forgot to bleed my pump from air and it died on me. Just unscrew that small screw a bit to get the air out.
I wonder what are the three spare pieces you mention at the beginning for, bc I didn't hear anything later on, and didn't see you using them at all. BTW thanks for sharing
Not too sure what you mean? There are a couple of black bungs that came with the kit, which I use when I’m cleaning the filter. I remove the grey parts from inside the pool and block the tubes with the bungs. This allows me to clean the filter in the pump and keep the water from coming out of the pool. Once reassembled I take the bungs out and run the pump.
@@whodigs975 Mine has 3 and a "T connector", (and 4 hoses) I figured out how to hook it up. Last year i had a different pool (Intex) and yes, I added the black "plug" on the third hole.
EXCELLENT VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT CAME WITH THE POOL... Still not really sure how the filter works... And please make sure you add a little water and straighten bottom of pool out otherwise it's gonna be very hard to do
Thanks. It’s just come out of storage for its second year. Yes adding a little water to start does help with the creases. The pump sucks the water though one tube, into the filter and back in. I clean mine once a week. I have a video on this too. Enjoy
@WhoDIGS Hi m8, Thought you can help - I’m think of getting the Bestway 4.57m by 1.2m round portable pool as I’m thinkin of harnessing myself to my patio pillar so I can do resistance and stroke training. 1. Can that be done for that spec purpose ? &. 2. I’m planning to keep the water and stuff and hopefully cover it when not in use But for 2. to happen, do I need to apply chlorine and stuff or should I be okay to use the sole filter provided ? Cheers m8
Hi Not too sure on using it for resistance training. Mine is only 60cm deep, so only good for kids and floating on. I use chlorine tablets in mine, and run the filter daily for an hour. I found when I covered it and went on holiday for a week it went green. Looks like it’s beneficial to run the filter. Only filled mine twice during the summer. Good luck.
I believe there is a product called shock, which will deal with green water. I just ran the filter once each day, and cleaned all the debris out of the pool regularly. I have another video which shows my cleaning routine. Thanks
What is the quality of the inflatable part of the pool as well as the material of the pool itself? Is it likely to puncture like the inflatable pools for toddlers?
Seems to be ok. Yes it’s not the same material as the main part of the pool, but I had a destructive 8 and 12 year old in it and it seemed to cope ok. Main part of the pool material feels very strong. Picked mine up for £60 including filter pump, saw one without the pump for £30, so not much more than a paddling pool would cost for a toddler. Comes with a repair patch too. I should get another summer out of mine. Well worth the money. I’ve had the rectangular inflatable pools and this is 10 times better.
