How to setup Deco M9 Plus for TM Unifi

Learn how to setup Deco M9 Plus provided by TM to work with Unifi with this video using the Dynamic IP setup method.
Tips:
- HyppTV must be connected to old router with this setup process
- Make sure the Deco device is placed in an open area and not near any metal object
- Please put the second unit near to the main unit during the setup process

Have completed the setup but there is no internet on the mesh and tried all 4 ports (including the one for Unifi TV) and none works.

Question 1: Is the main Deco have to be connected PERMANENTLY with LAN Cable? Question 2: Can the main Deco unit be placed far away from the router (3-5m) provided that it still connected with 3-5m LAN cable to the router?

i turned off my deco M9 and modem to let it rest and when I turned it back on the whole network had gone haywire. First I couldnt connect to my wifi, and then my home wifi is gone! I tried to reset it but the Main node keeps blinking red, couldnt connect to network. My modem's connection PON and everything else is fine

@@mohdsyahrulazmanmdsaru6909 Cam tu la dan lèceh. Sye dh cuba connect direct ke modem, langsung x guna. Walaupun sign in guna pppoe, xde gunanya. Melainkan guna Time Broadband, direct connect cable dan sign in PPPOE, Lancaaaaaar. Xde masalah langsung.

Can I use a direct lan cable for the second node and do I need to pair in order for a wired setup?

You can pair them wirelessly then connect the Ethernet LAN cable after that. Our Deco class-leading ART (Adaptive Routing Technology) will intelligently select the best network pathway.

@@wangmat9219 oh nice i see. Thanks for the detailed review. Im not an IT guy myself but i do appreciate getting the best out of my wifi experience. Im currently already using an access point for my "wifi dead zone" with seperate SSID, using an extra router i dont use (ethernet from router). Using this deco M9 plus as a mesh wifi would definitely be a downgrade to my current setup, so i thought of using it as an access point again but if thats how you put it, being not able to seperate SSID then probably not good also 😅. Ummm probably then just gona keep it la since free gift 😭. Use as router ok or not

The problem with Deco M9 is that it cannot set more than 2 Main Deco. I've got 2 different deco on different location connected by LAN cable but only 1 main deco can be set as internet sources. Causing secondary deco to have slower speed than primary deco. I dont want to set multiple SSID i want to connect to the deco by using 1 SSID with both deco connected by LAN cable so that connection will be very fast, unfortunately it cannot be done

boleh, what you are doing is setting them both to be routers(gateway blackhole), you need to wirelessly bridge one of the unit first then connect the lan cable
