Dude, I can’t thank you enough! I was so frustrated as to why my display wasn’t going through. I kept getting an error screen saying it wasn’t the right picture quality until I clicked this video and connected the cables correctly. Thank you man. It was such a headache trying to figure out the problem... (I gave you a sub from awesomeness and good knowledge)
This dude is a life saver. I havent bought anything to start streaming I just have my xbox. I have always wanted to stream and now I think I can. He makes it so easy to understand
Love the tutorial but ’m having issues maybe you can offer some advice on. I cant get game audio with obs. I get it with elgato software but not with obs. Any thoughts?
I need help finding out what is wrong with my audio input, can you help me please? The video is on my channel and I've been looking for help for a while☹
Lmaooo dude you saved my life I was stressing everyone can hear my party but not my voice 🤦🏽♂️ unbelievable we still need more adapters in todays day and age!!! you are a savior honestly!!!
On xbox there is a setting to have the chat audio come out of hdmi, and even from both hdmi and the headset connected to your controller, but it’s only for party chat, not in-game chat. If you’re using in-game chat for games like fortnite or war zone, then the chat link cable is needed
@@halofanaticboy the char link is needed if you want to record in-game chat, like if you're playing with randoms or with people on other consoles. But it's not needed if you're recording xbox party chat
@@halofanaticboy if you want discord recorded to your stream, just add that as a source capture to whatever program you're using to record or stream. if you're using an elgato specifically, they have what's called elgato sound capture, so use that.
Yo Bro, thank you for this video!! Very simple explained. I thougt it would be more difficult, that was the barrier till now! I'm glad i've seen your turtorial and wish you all the best for future. Lots of greetings from Germany.
You’re a lifesaver!!! I had everything set up but I had the chat link reversed and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t able to use my headset mic. Subbed for sure!
The elgato will pick up party chat fine without the chat link cable but you still need a chat link if you want your stream or recording to hear game chat but on some games like Cod actually have a setting in game that allows it to be picked up by the elgato without any cables
You can do party chat without the cables and capture in COD but you can't get the game chat in cod (on xbox)..it's ridiculous. For the life of me I seriously cannot figure it out and it's driving me nuts.
What If You Got A Wireless Headset With A USB? How Would Chat Audio Be Heard On Stream Or Chat Link Cable Be Used There? (In The Middle Of The Video Btw)
@@nickgs93 you have to press windows key + G to open Xbox app. Capture chat audio using the app while gaming. Make sure audio is picked up in OBS when adding audio output source. I usually use voice meter banana to multitrack audio but that’s an option…OBS has added multitrack feats in there newest updates.
Very good video. Elgato coming today so I can stream Madden gameplay.. will need this video again to guide me in setting up everything. Got the mic, gaming laptop, Xbox series s, and elgato.. wish me luck guys
Great video bro super clean audio and very well detailed and explaination keep up the good work.. big congrats to your 90K+ can’t wait for your 100K that is going to be awesome 👏🏾 & I see that you made the background green for the Xbox lol nice keep up the good work bro God Bless
@@MidnightMan yup real close by summer or earlier 100K that’s going to be awesome 👏🏾 especially once you bring the video of your journey how you started to now.
I still have my original HD60 S (not the plus). I’ve been thinking about upgrading. Do you think now years later that upgrading to the HD60x will be worth it or is there something else out there worth it? I play on ps5 currently.
I’ve bought the chat link cable and it’s honestly a waste of money, if you have a stand alone mic and everything else in between the rest of the work is within the console. Once you have everything setup you must use HDMI audio output and when you’re ready to record with friends you have to go to your settings, go to volume and audio output, additional options, and now this is where it gets tricky, under the volume options you have party chat output. I’ve had the most success using the speakers option, you’ll just have to have your tv or monitor muted, I can still hear my game and my friends through my headset but your friends will sound a bit louder than your game, but with a little tweaking you can balance out your game and party chat audio to your liking. After everything is setup you can do a little doctoring within the elgato software to make sure you have the perfect audio balance between your friends and your own voice
You can have your party chat on your stream without the cable if you have your chat set to come through headset and speakers. My best friend does it that way.
I'm very confused by a portion of this video, is this setup using 2 mics? Or does the elgato wave 3 have the ability to plug directly into your computer via usb, and also aux cable to your controller?
I have a Bluetooth headset for Xbox so is there I way I can set this up without plugging my headset into the capture card bc my headset doesn't have a USB port
Will I be able to hear alerts and things like that from stream through my headset once all these steps are completed ? Or is there something else that needs to be done?
Thank you man. This has been buggin the hell outta me and my issue was that I didn’t know I had to deactivate and reactivate the source since you can’t be using the Elgato in more than one thing 🤦🏼♂️
Great video! Question… Can i use elgato mainly to just record my gameplays and my audio through my headset? And without having to use OBS? I Just edit the clip afterwards on pther programs. Basically right now im just using a usb stick to store gameplay footage and using my phone to record my voice at the same time.
Do you know if it's possible to run both the mic audio and in-game audio off the same Elgato Capture Card source, so that you would only need a headset with a built-in mic?
Does this work with the Xbox one S too? I’m trying to record gameplay and party audio. Just wondering if the elgato and chat link is what I need to purchase.
After I connect the elgato chat link will I be able to use another splitter to connect a separate mic and headphone; rather then having to use a gaming headset ? I only ask because I have better headphones and a better mic that I would rather use .
Hey great video. It helped a lot! Do you know if the chat link cable is still needed to pick up game chat audio with the elgato HD60 X? I play on xbox series s. Thank you lots!
Hey I was wondering if there is anyway that you can clip what happened using the xbox software and then edit it later or do you have to always use obs. Since I am trying to find a way to have game/mic in my clips and the normal xbox clips dont cut it if not I might use obs. Edit: I also was wonder if there was a capture card that is like a usb that I can plug into my console and capture and plug into a laptop and edit??
The problem I’m having bro with my elgato 4k pro is that you can’t hear the game audio coming from my Xbox in OBS and while I’m streaming. Do you have anyway solution to that?
Hey I did this but I noticed that when I play my recording back my audio sounds low quality, a bit muffled. While the rest of the party sounds fine. Any advice?
Great video but how would recording chat audio work if I use a wireless headset. Would I be able to work around this if I use audio from the xbox app through my PC?
Great video. I’m getting ready to stream and this all is very daunting. Have they fixed this issue? Or do you still have to do it this way? This video is 2 years old.
A couple of questions, because I recently bought the Elgato 4K60 and had to return it because I didn’t know you needed a PC to use it so I don’t wanna buy the wrong thing again. 1. I have a wireless headset, so would I even be able to have my voice recorded since it’s not possible to plug it in? 2. I know the capture card can only go up to 60 FPS, does that mean I can play in 120 FPS while recording/streaming in 60, or would it limit my gameplay to 60 FPS also?
The Elgato will only record the game chat (no your voice from your headset). You will need an external mic to have your voice captured while streaming. If you are strictly using Xbox Party Chat then it may record your voice using your headset but I’m not 100% sure. Remember you will need an aux cable or chat link cable connected from your controller to the Elgato so it can capture your teammates voice. If you need more help let me know.
Is there any way to use a capture card without connecting it to a laptop/pc? Or is that a requirement ? I was wondering if you could just transfer it later, sort of like a usb
Thank you for this very informative video! The only questin i have is following: when i mute the tv, is the only possible way to hear gameplay audio over my headphones to plug them into the tv? so I'd have one pair of headphones for the stream audio like Alerts etc. and one pair of headphones to plug in the tv to hear the gameplay? Can't find a way to set it up to have my stream alerts audio and gameplay audio on the same headphones.
I have the HD60 S. Issue I have is that the image on my TV enlarges cropping out the areas around all four edges of the screen. What do I do to fix this? I tried it with my Switch and I see no problems like this. This only happens when connected to the XBox Series S.
You mention you have to use an external microphone while using the capture card how do you keep your external microphone from picking up the sound from your headset during my stream my external microphone is picking up the sound from my headset which is causing a slight echo in my stream Do you know of a way to prevent this
4:44 talks about muting your TV, the real solution to that is in you audio settings through xbox, the party chat output should be headset only, if you have it as headset and speakers, you will have audio coming from your TV causing an echo. Muting would work yes, but overall this will fix it. once your headset is unplugged then the audio comes through the TV/monitor
Yo man does this help with game chat audio while streaming ? I’m streaming COD from Xbox and can’t hear no one else in game chat for reactions and rage etc
Quick question, when I use the elgato chat link cable, do I have to connect it to the elgato capture card, or can I use any capture card which has a headphone port?
Good video have a question tho what to you have to have if you use a pair of astro a50 with baystation for your headset I'm going to want party chat recordings with this.
So im not going to be streaming but just recording gameplay for later editing. Would I still need a commentary mic or will my voice be included in recordings with chat link ?
I'm confused, is the point of the USB mic to capture my voice whilst playing? if so can my friends in my xbox party still hear me with both my usb and controller mic plugged in? will my voice echo?
