How to Setup Google Home for Beginners

Hi, this video shows you the initial setup of the Google Home. It shows everything to get you started from the unboxing, setting up the cables, App and the Wi-Fi and then the main features of the device and what it can do.
The Google Home in the video has never been powered on so this shows a real 1st time set up.
Once you have done the initial setup then you can explore all the other features to find out which ones are going to be useful to you.

Thank you so much Vince, this is invaluable to someone like me who wouldn't have a clue!! I was going to get my daughter a bluetooth speaker for Christmas purely to play music from her iphone or Ipad-but then I realised shes always on Google for homework etc, id be better off buying her one of these! I'm going to buy one tomorrow so I'll keep this video handy-Have a great Christmas!

Great helpful video. I am going to gift Google Home to my elderly mom who can't use mobile phones. I wanted to reconfirm that once configured (which I will do for her), the mobile phone is not required for using Google Home. All it needs is access to wi-fi.

Even a year later, a very good review. One update may be good for your followers. Skip the wi-fi extenders and go for a 'mesh router.' In my humble opinion.

Does Google Home require a smartphone to be used after setup ? I am considering getting this for my grandparents but they tend to leave their phones off while in the house. They will be asking it questions and at most playing music on Pandora.

Heisenberg _ it works fine without a mobile phone. It is only needed for setup or changing advanced settings.

Yes, it's a real genius, till it stops and if you try to set it up a second time, it suicide time. I heard that sound, time and time again, but.... it still kept saying, "You're not connected, you have to set up with your phone or ..... and so and on and on." It doesn't matter that it's on my phone, that I've deleted it and replaced it over and over again, I still get the same message.
