You are just remote controlling the desktop when windows is running. The AMT allows you to access the built in web interface via port 16992 even when the computer is not running an OS.

If you need to enter a password to enter the Remote/KVM, how does this work if the system is frozen or asleep. Is this only done once at setup ?
